About the role

As a Finance Manager supporting large scale strategic projects, you will play a critical role in driving financial performance, ensuring robust planning, reporting and financial governance, and enabling value realisation. You will partner with cross-functional teams including IT, Transformation, Functions and Regional/Market/Factory teams to provide strategic financial insight and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead detailed reviews of YTD spend vs forecast with programme teams, LT, and SteerCo
  • Identify and escalate risks and opportunities impacting programme lifetime value (LV)
  • Drive benefit realisation by defining KPIs, baselines, and measurement methodologies
  • Lock committed benefits into regional plans and forecasts to ensure ownership
  • Develop, challenge, and validate business cases for strategic programmes, ensuring alignment with financial policy and investment criteria
  • Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support investment decisions and programme deployment
  • Assess financial impact on IRR, payback, and investment returns for strategic decisions
  • Initiate and manage Capital Committee / EOLT / GEC and governance approvals as per policy
  • Act as single point of contact for internal controls and assurance teams
  • Conduct proactive reviews for compliance with accounting policies and benefit accuracy
  • Ensure alignment with central transformation governance using SNOW and SPM tools
  • Drive adoption of governance standards and reporting protocols across programmes
  • Lead financial planning cycles (Forecast, Plan, Strat Plan) with programme teams
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and governance bodies
  • Engage with stakeholders across finance and business to communicate risks and insights
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and automation for reporting efficiency

The experience we're looking for

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in Finance and FP&A, ideally within programme or transformation environments
  • Strong understanding of investment appraisal, business case development, and benefit tracking (2-3 years experience)
  • Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and influence decision-making
  • Experience working in delivery-focused teams with a strong results orientation
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and project governance tools (e.g., SNOW)
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail and with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of driving insights and recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a structured manner
  • Exposure to cross-functional programmes and technology-related initiatives is a plus
