About the role

This role forms part of the Enterprise Data and Analytics organisation. The Data and Analytics (D&A) organization is dedicated to leveraging core information assets to empower global product streams and markets, optimizing decision-making through high-quality data, actionable insights, and advanced analytics. This ecosystem is supported by key strategic pillars: Engineering, Visualization, Strategy & Operations, Data Platform, Governance, and Data Science. As the AI Tech Lead, you will take ownership of the global Data AI platform, defining and driving the enterprise AI platform strategy across cloud and vendor ecosystems. You will document the approach by developing a written vision and strategy to advance our AI capabilities aligned to key stakeholders across the global organization. This role focuses on enabling, governing, and scaling AI and GenAI initiatives by providing strong platform foundations, architectural guidance, and continuous evaluation of the rapidly evolving AI landscape. You will act as a trusted advisor to global and local business units, ensuring the harmony of all products running over the platform through practical guardrails and standards.

Your responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Ownership:

  • Define and own the enterprise AI platform strategy, independent of any single cloud or AI vendor.
  • Evangelize the use of the common AI platform for global and local business use cases to ensure Gen AI topics utilize common tooling, capabilities, and guardrails.
  • Review evolving requirements and work collaboratively with product owners, stakeholders, and D&A chapters (e.g., data engineering) to make enhancements to the architecture.

Technology Evaluation & Innovation (GenAI):

  • Continuously track and evaluate advancements in the AI ecosystem, including foundation models and providers such as OpenAI (GPT models), Anthropic (Claude models), and other emerging providers.
  • Provide technical leadership on proof of concepts (PoCs), pilots, and technical evaluations to establish architectural patterns for new AI and GenAI capabilities.
  • Map platform capabilities to a variety of AI use cases, maintaining a deep understanding of relevant risks and considerations (e.g., bias, data drift, hallucinations).

Engineering Standards & Architecture:

  • Design platform reference architectures for model training, inference, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and integration with enterprise data platforms.
  • Establish standards for MLOps and AI CI/CD, including model versioning, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

Governance & Responsible AI :Ensure data governance, security, compliance, and Responsible AI principles are embedded into AI platform designs. Set the policy and standards for the AI Platform to ensure it operates according to responsible AI principles, acting as a key member of the responsible AI governance team.

  • Strong communication skills, experienced in stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and presenting complex topics to non-technical audiences.

GenAI & Tech Landscape Awareness

  • Strong understanding of the AI/ML and GenAI ecosystem, including foundation models, tooling, and deployment patterns.
  • Detailed knowledge on the latest trends and technologies relating to Gen AI, implementation approaches, and architectural design.
  • Demonstrated experience working over cloud platforms (Azure / GCP) to deliver AI capabilities with a particular focus on the latest advancements in LLMs.

  • Extensive technical experience working hands-on with AI/ML platform capabilities (e.g., MLOps, RAG, vector databases, embeddings).
  • Strong background in CI/CD, DevOps, and platform automation. Proficiency in Python and SQL. Experience integrating multiple AI model providers and frameworks.
