About the role
As a Regional Tax Compliance and Reporting Manager – Local, Direct and Indirect Taxes, you will report to the Area Tax Compliance and Reporting Senior Manager with a dotted line to the respective Regional Controller, supporting tax compliance and reporting activities across multiple markets. You will prepare and review tax filings, analyse tax positions, and provide insights to support business decisions. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of Local, Direct and Indirect Tax matters, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop your expertise in a dynamic, global environment.
Your responsibilities
Tax Compliance
- Manage the regional tax compliance and reporting calendar, ensuring timely filings and payments.
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance across entities, working with outsourced/co-sourced providers.
- Review tax computations, corporate tax returns, VAT/GST returns, WHT filings, transfer pricing documentation, and Pillar 2 submissions where applicable.
- Analyze financial data, resolve provider queries, and review tax implications of accounting transactions, reorganizations, and business changes.
- Prepare/review tax journal entries, tax payments, VAT refund claims, tax incentive applications, and local tax filings.
- Review statutory accounts tax disclosures, deferred tax calculations, and balance sheet reconciliations, coordinating with auditors as required.
- Support annual tax controls testing and ensure compliance with internal governance standards.
- Monitor tax law changes and update processes, policies, and procedures accordingly.
Tax Reporting & Provision
- Prepare, review, and submit tax reporting information through Longview and other group reporting systems.
- Review quarterly and annual tax reporting packs, tax provisions, deferred tax balances, and statutory disclosures.
- Support effective tax rate forecasting and ensure timely delivery of audit and group reporting requirements.
- Define and monitor tax compliance and reporting KPIs, escalating risks where necessary.
Tax Controversy & Advisory
- Maintain a regional tax controversy tracker and support tax audits and authority inquiries.
- Partner with Group Tax, external advisors, and local teams on audits, disputes, and strategic tax matters.
- Provide financial analysis and documentation for tax authority requests and internal projects.
Business Partnering & Transformation
- Collaborate with Controllers, Finance teams, Group Tax, and outsourced providers to ensure end-to-end tax compliance.
- Support tax technology, automation, data analytics, and process improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the Tax Controls Framework, compliance governance, and exception management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization across tax compliance and reporting activities.
Leadership
- Lead and develop team members where applicable, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of corporate, indirect, and local tax compliance obligations.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or tax
- 8-12 years of experience in tax compliance or analysis
- Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations and reporting
- Big Four trained (desirable)
- Experience working in the Shared Service Center and Center of Excellence environment is desired
- Advance English; other European languages (e.g. Portuguese, French, Italian) are desirable
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience of managing teams
- Experience with SAP and Longview Tax software is desired
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
