About the role

The Global Procurement Manager – S. Noodles, Veg Oil, Latex is accountable for the end-to-end strategic sourcing and supply management of Soap Noodles, Vegetable Oil, and Natural Rubber Latex — a combined portfolio of approximately GBP 220 million in annual spend. The role drives competitive advantage through deep commodity expertise, resilient supply chain design, and proactive risk management, with direct impact on product cost, quality, and continuity of supply across global manufacturing sites

Your responsibilities

Develop and execute multi-year category strategies for Soap Noodles, Vegetable Oil, and Latex aligned to business objectives.

  • Lead competitive booking decisions via monthly CRM with a strong total cost of ownership (TCO) focus.
  • Build and maintain a robust, diversified supplier base across geographies to reduce concentration risk.
  • Monitor commodity market dynamics, geopolitical developments, and regulatory changes (e.g. EUDR, deforestation due diligence) with forward-looking risk assessment.
  • Maintain supply continuity plans, including buffer stock strategies and dual-/multi-sourcing models.
  • Act as the primary relationship owner for strategic and preferred suppliers across all three categories.
  • Drive supplier performance management using KPIs covering quality, delivery, sustainability, and commercial compliance.
  • Ensure supply base compliance with corporate sustainability commitments (RSPO, deforestation-free, responsible sourcing).
  • Support audit programmes and third-party certification activities across the supplier base.
  • Stay ahead of evolving regulatory requirements and translate them into sourcing policy.
  • Partner closely with R&D, Finance, Sustainability, Quality, Manufacturing to align category strategy with business requirements.
  • Provide commodity market intelligence and cost outlooks to senior leadership to support S&OP, budgeting, and business planning cycles.
  • Represent Procurement in cross-functional projects and NPD pipelines.
  • Manage and develop a direct report, based in Amsterdam and directly managing Vegetable Oil and Latex.
  • Ensure full compliance with procurement policy, delegation of authority, and contract management standards.
  • Champion continuous improvement in sourcing processes, systems, and ways of working.

The experience we're looking for

Min 14 years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, with a minimum of 4 years in direct/raw materials category management.

  • Ideally demonstrable expertise in at least two of the three categories (Soap Noodles, Vegetable Oil, or Latex); exposure to a second category strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value, complex commodity portfolios (GBP 100M+ preferred).
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills with experience structuring long-term supply agreements.
  • Solid understanding of commodity price risk management, pricing indices, and hedging instruments.
  • Experience working in an international, matrixed organization with multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, or a related discipline; Master's or MBA advantageous.
  • CIPS qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks relevant to the category (RSPO, EUDR, FSC, Rainforest Alliance).
  • Experience with SAP Ariba or equivalent e-procurement/ERP platforms.
