About the role

Reckitt is on the lookout for a proactive Africa HSE Manager who is passionate about safeguarding well-being and ensuring best practises in our Manufacturing Environment. With your expertise, you will champion safety, inspire trust, and guide our teams to excellence. Your responsibilities

- Drive Health & Safety strategic direction and vision for Africa.

- Develop and maintain Health & Safety compliance programmes, ensuring they reflect our global standards and meet all regulatory requirements.

- Develop Strategic functional goals and annual objectives aligned with Africa KPI

- Conduct thorough audits and inspections, assess Supply Chain compliance, and provide insightful feedback to sites.
- Analyse Health & Safety data to identify trends and formulate strategies for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with various teams to integrate Health & Safety considerations into the manufacturing plants and offices.
- Deliver comprehensive compliance reports and uphold a culture where Health & Safety standards are revered.

- Implement training programs to educate employees on HSE best practices.

- Develop and maintain emergency response plan and procedures for all sites 

- Lead the HSE audits for Africa programs to ensure compliance to internal and external standards 

- Manage the sustainability roadmap for Africa sites to meet business commitment while ensuring compliance with local regulations and ISO certification requirements including the management of hazardous materials and waste , their handing, storage and disposal.

- Lead the HSE Team. Develop and execute long-term plans related to succession planning and team development, cost management, facility improvements, regulation changes

 

 

 

 

The experience we're looking for

- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety

- Master's or Honours degree as a distinct advantage.

- 8-10 years managerial experience in various areas of health and safety
- Deep understanding of Health & Safety regulations and substantial experience managing compliance within a factory.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and propose effective Health & Safety solutions.

- Knowledge and application of SA/ Nigeria regulatory standards

- Previous CDM Exposure
- Fluent in English , communicator with effective leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
- Flexable to travel Africa countries if required.

- Minimum Lead Auditor certification of ISO450001 and ISO14001

- Education to high standard with successful health, safety and environment management experience gained in FMCG or Pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage.
