About the role

As a Material Planner , To ensure 100 availability of material to meet an agreed production plan whilst minimising inventory. You'll be the linchpin in our supply services, forging strong collaborations and harnessing data to drive efficiency. This role is a launchpad to influence and sharpen our decision-making process, helping us deliver excellence to the customers we proudly serve.
Your responsibilities
Scope for the Role
- Support and validate the Master Production Schedules for each relevant production value stream.
- Manage and improve the flow of in-bound materials from external suppliers to meet production plans and manage stocks.
- Manage materials shipment to co-packers (BCP) and reconciliation of RM/PM on a monthly basis.
- Identify, scope, and implement alternative order patterns/replenishment techniques with Purchasing
Responsibility
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and supporting functions (Packaging, Logistics, Procurement, Quality ,R&D) to resolve any issues in achieving plan
- Understand customer demand profile and material usage patterns to determine future replenishment policy.
- Ensure materials are ordered only through processes and systems
- Provide visibility of risk items to operations/stakeholder
- Minimise RM/PM stock holding & ensure the stock held is required for production within a given horizon
- Identify expired materials and the subsequent action required
- Control & implement the pack change process, reflecting the discontinuation of old materials and the introduction of the new bills of materials identify implications when materials are discontinued and agree actions with supply planner including obsolete stock disposal.
- Ensure robust process and MRP system setup.
- Measure and support the delivery of strategic net working capital reduction target.
- Develops and executes material planning for a product line. Ensures that all material requirements for assigned programs are satisfied within the allocated time frame
- Use and maintain MRP as the primary planning system tool.
- Raise purchase orders from MRP system ensuring timely placement and delivery of components in line with production planning requirements
- Expedite and reschedule open purchase order to suit production planning requirements
- Schedules and control the release of material. Monitors material inventory in the plant , in the warehouse and by critical suppliers
- Generates forecasts and manages the replenishment planning for parts and materials , ensures specified service are realized.
- Provide inputs in developing departmental strategies for inventory on existing items , new product introduction and phase outs.
- Monitor capacity of suppliers to manage supply vulnerability.
The experience we're looking for
- BCom. Degree (Supply/Planning) or similar
- Educated to a high standard with previous customer service experience 3-5 years in an FMCG, Pharmaceutical or Retail environment.
- Detailed knowledge of MRP processes and systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and a detailed understanding planning process.
- JDE/SAP Kinexis and DRP systems
- SAP system
- Fluent in English with good communication skills
- Good problem-Solving skills
- Good Negotiation and presentation skills
- Attention to details and organised
- Good Project Management skills
