About the role

Are you keen to make a tangible difference in  Procurement the  backbone of an innovative company? As our Senior Buyer,Logistics Africa Procurement, you will Manage a portfolio of the Logistics function in South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa for the entire business.

  • Implement procurement strategies across the portfolio to drive Productivity, Services improvement, Supply relationship leveraging & strengthening, as well as GM improvement, NR growth & NWC benefit
  • Initiate & drive synergy projects across different Reckitt entities, through benchmarking, combining scope & leveraging on volumes to drive cost efficiencies.
  • Drive sustainability agenda with our supplier of freight-out and Warehousing
  • You'll be uniquely positioned to manage budgets, monitor costs and boost operational efficiency. Your astute financial insights will help shape cost-saving initiatives vital for our continued growth. Join us and become an integral part of the Procurement Region at Reckitt. 

 


 

Your responsibilities

  • Within the scope of Logistics, responsible for leading and implementing Procurement-initiated projects:
    • Market analysis: with cross-functional teams to screen the market, develop sustainable relationships with  Logistics Providers such as Freight-out, warehouse, control tower, embellishers.
    • Team work with internal stakeholders, by support and challenge, to define requirements (volumes, timelines, liability, etc.), KPIs, contract clauses
    • Tenders, leverage of supply base and business opportunities & Commercial negotiations
    • Internal & External benchmarks to drive synergies & productivity
    • e-tools usage (Ariba, RFQ, reverse-auction)
    • Compliance: Supplier Selection Scorecard, Contract template to be aligned with Legal & Finance, maintain a contract tracker & plan the renewal ahead of time, Selection Scorecard for tender, Supplier financial check, agreement validation as per operating model.
    • Contract negotiation: drive the negotiation with Supplier and ensure to validate the Reckitt template
    • Supplier relationship Management: work closely with user functions to track performance of key suppliers & work on improvement programs
    • Generate Procurement reporting for the region, highlighting major achievements, challenges, update on key projects . Prepare forecast and plan in alignment with local supply services and finance.
    • Represent Procurement in relevant regional cross-functional meetings, including but not limited to Supply Services Review, Supplier&Performance meetings, Finance review, Budget/Forecast meetings
    • Work closely with relevant departments to improve the risk-evaluation and mitigation in Logistics
    • Give each entity relevant support in case of Service issues, to ensure timely resolution
    • Compliance: ensure all Service Providers comply with the regulatory requirements in the country & drive improvement programs for suppliers who do not comply

The experience we're looking for

  • Minimum of 5-year experience in Procurement and/or Logistics
  • 2-3 years FMCG expirience 
  • Degree qualified preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline. MBA advantageous
  • Ability to work in a truly global organisation. Proven experience working in a fast moving, results driven environment
  • High level negotiation, influencing and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge & quick adaptability to e-tools
  • Agility with financial data and high proficiency of excel
