About the role

Step into the world of Reckitt as Senior Mgr. I&A - Africa this role is a strategic regional position focused on embedding the consumer voice into decision-making across South Africa and Sub‑Saharan Africa. Beyond executing research, it requires strong strategic thinking to translate global insights into locally relevant actions that drive sustainable growth.

The position partners closely with Marketing, Trade, and Commercial teams across multiple brands, helping to shape strategy, set priorities, and ensure consumer and shopper insights guide planning and execution. Success in the role depends on the ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge assumptions, and deliver clear, evidence-based recommendations in a fast-paced, emerging markets environment. Your responsibilities

  • Lead the consumer and shopper insights strategy across South Africa and Sub‑Saharan Africa, aligned with regional business goals.
  • Develop and execute integrated research plans for brands and markets, balancing local needs and priorities.
  • Act as a senior partner to Marketing, Sales, and Leadership to shape strategy, portfolio decisions, and activation plans.
  • Translate continuous and syndicated data into clear insights on brand and channel performance drivers.
  • Deliver and synthesize primary research into compelling, actionable recommendations for business growth.
  • Challenge assumptions, embed consumer truth in decisions, and build strong supplier partnerships while supporting team capability development in a fast-paced environment.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Psychology, Statistics or a related field preferred.
  • 8–12+ years’ experience in Consumer Insights, Analytics or Market Research roles.
  • Significant hands-on experience across Sub-Saharan Africa markets (e.g. South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and/or similar).
  • Background in Consumer Healthcare and/or FMCG strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience working with continuous data providers (e.g. Nielsen/Circana) and primary research agencies.
  • Experience operating in large, matrixed, multinational organisations.
  • Strong strategic thinking capability with the ability to connect consumer and shopper insight to business growth outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in consumer insights and analytics, with hands-on experience in FMCG and/or Consumer Health businesses or agency side exposure to FMCG/Consumer Health clients.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
