The Senior Trade Marketing Manager plays a key role within the Country Sales team, driving excellence in store (4P) execution across key customers/key accounts. The role will also focus on building expert knowledge in our key categories and sharing this with the customer in order to build long-term partnerships and increase profit and sales. The TMM leads within the country the development and implementation of category management strategies, this will focus on increasing Reckitt Benckiser’s in store presence in our categories, strengthening our brands, optimizing product assortment, and promotional strategy.

 

As part of an experienced and dynamic Sales team, you will be responsible to define Category trade marketing KPIs and drive execution thereof. You will work on continuous analysis of the customer’s position, works together with the Key Account Manager to recommend in store actions aimed at strengthening Reckitt’s position in the category.

This role is a senior role and visibility and collaboration within the various departments is key to success

Your responsibilities

  • Solid background in trade marketing, sales or marketing with a proven track record of crafting compelling trade strategies.
  • Overall ownership of brand and category 4P and preparation of the PnL
  • Key role in monthly forecasting by brand/sku/customer with data driven insights
  • Develop and track the most optimal promotional strategy across relevant brands and customer channels with post analysis and ROI focus on promotional mechanics.
  • Oversee and track the distribution program and drive gap closure through support to the sales team.
  • Manage all in store POS across relevant customer channels and brands and ensure clear execution in trade in line with the brand strategy
  • Prepare and execute innovations within the relevant customers
  • Define Category trade marketing KBDs and drive execution thereof.
  • Close visibility and collaboration with the sales key accounts and head of customer teams in day to day execution.
  • Develop and train your direct reports to prepare for the next level
  • Optimise the monthly sales operating model
  • You will be required to prepare your own analysis and insights
  • You will be required to prepare local category growth strategies and take to customers our strategies.
  • Insight driven with a strong understanding of trade channels and consumer behaviour.
  • Excellent ability to analyse data and translate it into actionable strategies.
  • Creative thinker with a results-driven mindset and ability to adapt to market shifts. - Effective communicator and influencer, adept at stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
  • Proficient in using Syndicated Data (e.g., Nielsen / IRI) and tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant category management software.

The experience we're looking for

  • Educated to minimum relevant bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 4-6 years FMCG experience in Sales Key Account positions
  • Minimum 3 years in trade marketing as Trade Marketing Manager
  • Experience in FMCG industry within FMCG is advantageous
  • Having managed direct reports is advantageous
  • Computer literate including very strong Powerpoint & excellent excel skills is a key requirement as well as data systems like IQVIA/ Nielsen and various customer portal data
  • Strong understanding of customer channels: Modern Trade, Drug, Traditional Trade
  • Must have a full understanding of financials including being responsible for the PnL and ROI analysis of your portfolio
  • Solid background in trade marketing, sales or marketing with a proven track record of crafting compelling trade strategies.
  • Insight driven with a strong understanding of trade channels and consumer behaviour.
  • Excellent ability to analyse data and translate it into actionable strategies.
