About the role
This Medical Marketing Manager position is a key role within Mead Johnson Nutrition organization in Canada. You will be responsible for marketing strategy and initiatives that are specific to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations (HCOs) and vital to our business. You will collaborate with agencies and cross-functional colleagues to help create, align, and execute strategic plans to accelerate the uptake of our brands within the medical community, nourish babies across the Canada., and contribute to over-achieving company business goals. The Manager position resides within the Marketing function and reports to Marketing Director.
Your responsibilities
- Drive Canada brand sales, share growth and equity through parent brand purchases derived from HCP recommendations and/or prescriptions
- Lead the development and deliver annual strategic marketing plans and ad hoc action plan that provide clear, actionable direction in the medical channel, overcome barriers, align with Brand, and drive business growth
- Create and manage best-in-class HCP campaigns that are insight-driven and translate science into relevant and compelling communications and programs
- Lead end-to-end launches in the medical channel for new product developments (NPDs) and existing product developments (EPDs)
- Work effectively within team and across functions to bring the Medical Marketing strategy to life consistently across touch points with executional excellence
- Build strong agency partnerships, create briefs, and give clear direction to deliver impactful HCP communications in line with the brand/medical strategy
- Leverage digital platforms to effectively engage and complement/extend reach across target healthcare audiences; drive content creation across digital applications
- Oversee the budget and determine resources allocations within Medical Marketing budget, determine resource allocations and optimize performance, while anticipating risks and ensuring contingency plans are developed
- Leverage multiple data sources and internal/external partnerships to understand, diagnose, and analyse performance, identify business challenges and opportunities, and make strategic recommendations to achieve goals
- Lead market research projects with A&I to deliver powerful actionable insights across target HCP audiences that drive maximum impact on HCP attitudes/practices
- Collaborate with Medical Sales to provide inputs into the National Sales and POA meeting process, content, agendas and workshops; elicit efficient product sampling from SFE; and gain field intelligence and best practices
- Champion the integration of key opinion leader (KOL) activities as part of Medical Marketing plans, collaborating with Professional Services and R&D to identify and cultivate thought leaders and generate educational content to shape and deploy strategic priorities
- Analyse and track performance, identify business challenges and opportunities, determine metrics, and make strategic recommendations to improve plans and achieve goals
- Content Review process with Medical Sciences, Legal Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Nutrition Science
- Comply with SOPs, Standards of Ethical Business conduct, including compliance parameters for interacting with healthcare professionals
- Manage, develop, and coach direct reports and cross-functional peers to develop their knowledge and skills
The experience we're looking for
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Marketing, Health Sciences, or a related discipline; an MBA is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience; Minimum of 3 years of Marketing experience in the consumer healthcare industry, pharmaceutical industry, and/or health sciences field
- Must be scientifically savvy with an exceptional ability to translate science into relevant messages and programs for all levels of healthcare professional audiences
- Self-motivated with an enterprising spirit
- Proven leadership skills and experience
- Exceptional ability to influence and work within a matrixed organization, as well as in a global environment
- Demonstrates excellent critical and strategic-thinking skills
- Acts autonomously and with sound judgment
- Resilient; ability to handle ambiguity; highly flexible
- Strong oral communication, written communication, and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; Ability to create productive collaborations with internal and external stakeholders

- At minimum, functions at an intermediate-to-advanced level across the Medical Marketing Competencies with continuous growth exhibited
