About the role

As a Lab Expert your expertise in product development, quality control, and operational efficiency will pave the way for groundbreaking consumer goods. Mentor, collaborate, and drive success alongside your team. If you have a proven track record in R & D, an instinct for innovation, and a desire to lead from the front, we're looking for you.

Your responsibilities

Laboratory Operations Management

  • Ensure smooth functioning of the R&D lab, including equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance (ISO, GMP, etc.).
  • Manage inventory of chemicals, consumables, and lab supplies.

Project Coordination

  • Support research projects from concept to execution, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product development, quality assurance).
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor lab technicians and junior researchers.
  • Schedule and delegate tasks effectively to optimize productivity.
  • Conduct training on new techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of experiments and results.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in lab processes.

 Budget & Resource Management

  • Monitor lab expenses and optimize resource utilization.
  • Assist in procurement of new equipment and technologies.
  • Collaborates with local commercial organizations in relation to consumer complaints and quality issues, competitor challenges and legal / regulatory inquiries concerning technical matters relating to products marketed within the region.

The experience we're looking for

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level (chemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering or other relevant science) PhD or Masters

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with a proven track record of successful management of lab and team
  • Proven project management, prioritization and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience with recruitment, management and development of people
  • Strong formulation knowledge and understanding of chemical interactions
  • Proven track record in active collaboration with internal & external R&D and non-R&D functions
