About the role
To support the Pakistan Factory, EMO and Embellishment (Health & Hygiene BUs) function by making sure that the packaging development activities are performed against agreed functional targets and to agreed specifications. This role is a part of the Packaging function, reporting into Packaging Manager Health & Hygiene in Pakistan.
Your responsibilities
- Support all packaging technical requirements related to Health & Hygiene BUs.
- Actively support local / Regional (NPD/EPD/Squeeze) activities and projects within budgets and deadlines and ensure the achievement of set objectives.
- Close collaboration with Procurement, Supply and QM/QA to make sure the “Supplier Selection Process & Criteria” process is applied for selection/qualification of any new suppliers.
- Extract and collate regular internal/external Packaging benchmarks data to make sure that RB packaging is cost-effective but not worse in quality than competition.
- Update/Create/Publish all Packaging specifications in TDS and ensure TDS is used as Globally agreed (i.e. packaging component specifications / palletization specifications / BOMs / Test methods / etc. are kept updated within the system).
- Make sure that existing Test methods (i.e. storage tests/transport tests/etc.) are applied.
- Close collaboration with QM/QA to make sure that latest Quality techniques are applied.
- Actively support technical implementation (line trials, packaging qualification and validation) of Packaging projects at External Manufacturers.
- Collaboration with Packaging Teams in other regions in order to transfer knowledge and learning.
The experience we're looking for
- Minimum Education: Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical Stream Preferred)
- Over 1 - 5 years’ experience in FMCG environments in a similar role
- Technical knowledge of packaging materials, specifications, and related processes
- Basic knowledge of Manufacturing technology (both on the making of the packaging components as well as the related filling and packing technology and any other packaging technologies i.e. printing, aerosols, laminates, etc. will be an added advantage.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, organize work and resources appropriate to requirements
- Effectively adapt to change in work situations, taking initiative to ensure clear, timely and well executed action
