Research & Development

Reckitt’s R&D Trainee Program is designed for curious, ambitious, and science‑driven young professionals who want to build a long-term career in Research & Development. Over two years, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to real projects, cutting‑edge technologies, and cross-functional collaboration — all while contributing to products used by millions of consumers worldwide.

This is not a shadowing role. You will be trusted with meaningful responsibilities from day one, supported by experienced mentors, and given the space to grow into a future R&D leader.

About the role

The R&D Graduate role at Reckitt offers fresh science graduates the opportunity to work at the heart of product innovation and improvement. As part of our Product Development & Maintenance (PDM) team, you’ll support real projects from day one — contributing to formulation work, feasibility studies, validation, stability testing, and industrial trials. You’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across Supply, Quality, Marketing, and Global R&D, gaining hands‑on experience in how products are developed, improved, and protected throughout their lifecycle. This role is designed to accelerate your learning, build strong technical foundations, and prepare you for a long‑term career in R&D within a fast‑paced, global FMCG environment.

Your responsibilities

  • Support and lead low‑risk R&D projects with guidance from senior scientists

  • Participate in formulation development, feasibility studies, validation, and stability testing

  • Assist in industrial trials, documentation, and dossier preparation

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Supply, Marketing, Quality, and Global R&D

  • Apply quality, regulatory, and sustainability standards in day‑to‑day work

  • Communicate risks, progress, and insights effectively to stakeholders

The experience we're looking for

  • Hold a Pharm‑D or Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering (preferred fields) or any other relevant science field

  • Be a fresh graduate from 2024 or 2025

  • Have less than 1 year of full‑time work experience

  • Be based in Karachi (Shortlisted candidates will not be eligible for relocation benefits)

The skills for success

  • Analytical and curious, with a passion for science and problem‑solving

  • Detail‑oriented, yet able to see the bigger picture

  • Strong communicators, comfortable working with diverse teams

  • Self‑driven, eager to learn, and ready to take ownership

  • Adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
