About the role

Step into the forefront of innovation as an R&D Category Analytical Associate for Gaviscon. In this pivotal role, you’ll be part of a team of high-performing analytical scientists, leveraging your scientific expertise and consumer insights to shape and execute cutting-edge product development strategies. Your work will have a global impact, ensuring the integrity and success of our products.

Your responsibilities

- Takes ownership of allocated projects within the category innovation pipeline, working in close partnership with R&D capability teams, ensuring the projects have strong technical, consumer and or medical insights, Consumer and product performance success criteria (PDC), Aligned analytical development milestone with an understanding of technical risk throughout the development route, R&D analytical knowledge and resources needed to succeed
- Supports technical seeding of the innovation pipeline through supporting ideation and concept development, proactive partnership with R&D Category, R&D capability, Outside Innovation & Science and Technology teams (e.g. Smart Release), supporting competitive intelligence & benchmarking in order to identify threats and opportunities
- Supports the analytical feasibility stage of product development cycle for all agreed projects through to factory scale up working with the R&D matrix organisation to ensure Analytical Product Development milestones are delivered to agreed timelines and to suitable standards, technical risks on projects are understood and working with analytical lead appropriate mitigation actions agreed and reviewed with the cross functional team, Factory scale-up and Technology Transfer using a QbD approach, due diligence on 3rd party products is completed with alignment from the cross functional teams 
- Ensure compliance with regulations, quality and health and safety requirements for all analytical activities and team members
- Support creation of new ownable Intellectual Property within the category

The experience we're looking for

- Degree, preferably Science, technology, engineering or mathematics-based subject.
- Experience of delivering development projects (experience within an OTC Healthcare environment an advantage)
- Knowledge of OTC analytical product development process
- The capability to define, evaluate and communicate risks and the associated mitigation plans
- Communication and influencing skills 
- Ability to build strong networks across a matrix organisation
- Comfortable working independently and partnering with cross functional teams within a matrix organisation
