About the role
As an Associate in Technical Safety, you will support the Technical Safety Manager within the Regulatory and Safety (RAS) function within R&D, and key stakeholders within Reckitt, with regards to the assessment of emerging toxicology and safety trends that may impact the Reckitt portfolio.
Along with other members of the Technical Safety team, you will proactively work alongside multidisciplinary functions to contribute to the development of safe and sustainable Reckitt Products throughout their product lifecycle.
The technical safety team is purposed to drive technical capability, risk assessment and seek innovative solutions to support the safety and sustainability of Reckitt marketed
products. To succeed within this role, you will be able to effectively communicate safety issues and concerns impacting Reckitt products.

Your responsibilities
- The role will involve being part of a team (6-8) of dedicated technical experts responsible for conducting human risk (toxicology) safety assessments and environmental toxicology assessments, to ensure the delivery of high quality, safety documentation and programmes to meet Reckitt safety requirements.
- Be able to ensure timely and quality responses to Regulatory intelligence alerts and provide timely communications to internal teams in relation to safety issues for Reckitt marketed products.
- Follow scientific and regulatory development in the field of product safety by working with the wider Technical Safety team to pro-actively address and implement new knowledge and standards where applicable. ·
- The individual will be responsible for ensuring that the Company safety standards are met for all existing Company products and will actively contribute to the development and maintenance of processes, policies, guidelines to drive high quality consistent deliverables.
- The Associate will be a significant contributor and a subject matter expert within the RAS organisation and will be responsible for ensuring high-quality toxicological risk assessments are conducted.
The experience we're looking for
- Preferably BSc with a higher qualification in toxicology or related discipline. Relevant product safety experience is desirable but not essential
Proven experience in leading the safety assessment of Consumer Healthcare products and ingredients is desirable but not essential
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
- Working knowledge of the principles of generating safety language labelling.
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms, good business acumen and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data and document within a formal risk assessment.
- Strong technical expertise in toxicology risk assessment.Self-motivated with strong initiative and drive.
