About the role
As a Category Activation Medical Affairs Senior Associate, you will act as the key medical partner for the Pain category, supporting activation across the African region. Working at the intersection of Medical Affairs and Commercial teams, you will ensure scientific evidence is translated into relevant, impactful medical education, HCP engagement, and market activation initiatives. This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape how Medical Affairs supports a growing region while partnering closely with Global Medical Affairs, Category Activation teams and regional stakeholders.
Your responsibilities
- Serve as the primary medical liaison between regional stakeholders, e.g. Africa and Global Medical Affairs teams.
- Adapt and amplify global scientific evidence, medical content and activation plans to meet regional needs.
- Provide medical insight and scientific guidance to Category Activation, Professional Marketing and regional teams.
- Support the creation, review and approval of scientific and educational materials for healthcare professionals.
- Respond to medical and scientific enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Gather regional insights and feed them into global evidence generation and medical strategy discussions.
- Collaborate with global teams on evidence dissemination, publications, congress activities and medical education initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, healthcare professionals, KOLs and third-party vendors.
- Support regional training and capability-building initiatives.
- Ensure medical activities comply with relevant scientific, regulatory and compliance standards.
The experience we're looking for
- Degree in Life Sciences, Biosciences, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial Medical or a related healthcare or pharmaceutical function.
- Experience bridging scientific and commercial teams to support market activation and business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience developing, adapting or communicating scientific content for different audiences.
- Experience managing relationships with healthcare professionals, KOLs or external stakeholders.
- Strong scientific communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and relevant messages.
- Experience supporting regional or international markets is advantageous.
- Experience within OTC, consumer health or pharmaceutical environments is preferred.
- PhD is a strong advantage.
- Fluent English required.
