About the role

Our IT&D team is expanding this capability.  We have the ambition to transform our ways of working by integrating a “digital first” approach to science, innovation, R&D, packaging, and manufacturing.  You could help us to use simulation technology to deliver a competitive edge.

Your responsibilities

- Creating technical CAD models of product design, manufacturing processes and packaging variables
- Simulating models to determine design improvements with computational simulations
- Working with business users to support adoption of digital first tools and living the strategy, challenging where required alternative methods
- Working with third parties to deliver outsourced models where needed or appropriate
- Supporting the IT infrastructure required to deliver the software and hardware to the team and internal users

The experience we're looking for

- Extensive modelling experience in one of the technologies (CFD, FEA, DEM) in similar industry
- Experience of managing HPC hardware and software to support efficient utilisation
- Knowledge of alternative simulation tools such as AI, statistical analytical chemistry and maths
- Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders to balance business needs with IS standards and processes.
- Enthusiastic about the use of technology, with a proven ability to provide a communication ‘bridge’ between the business and technologists.
- Extensive experience of working in a mixed Waterfall and Agile delivery environment
- Experience of supporting complex change and / or multi-disciplinary projects
