About the role
Role Location: Hull, HU8 7DS
Our Microbiology Technicians work closely with our factory and technical teams to ensure high levels of microbiological quality assurance are achieved and maintained. They perform a range of microbiological tests and techniques ensuring an effective and efficient service to our internal customers.
Your responsibilities
- Perform a range of microbiological tests and techniques.
- Ensure all tasks are conducted and relevant data recorded, checked and approved in accordance with GMP, GLP, and GDP.
- Understand and follow all necessary health and safety protocols and standards.
- Plan own workload and manage resources providing effective testing service.
- Communicate issues / problems / progress efficiently and effectively.
- Provide support to regulatory authority inspections.
- Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the laboratory and it's associated data ensuring consistent audit preparation.
- Pro-active communication with customers and stakeholders regarding progess or issues.
- Proactively contribute to reviews of testing regimes and ways of working ensuring continuous improvements.
- Works closely all other members of the Microbiology team to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and the laboratory is left clean and tidy at the end of every working day.
- Contributes to decision making.
- Participates in the monitoring and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure they comply with agreed procedures.
- Promptly and effectively liaise with customers to communicate problems/progress. Participates in cross-functional projects.
- Contribute to reviews of testing regimes and ways of working to ensure the Microbiology team work in the most cost effective way and adds value to the business.
- Promptly responds to issues prioritising them effectively and resolving immediate issues in a timely manner.
The experience we're looking for
- Degree in relevant Science subject or other relevant qualification.
- 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in microbiology.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing (Prefered - not essential)
- Knowledge of UK & EU standards and legislation (Prefered - not essential)
- Strong Interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Competency in microbiological testing activities and techniques such as finished product testing, raw material testing, environmental monitoring, water sampling.
- Ability to provide microbiological expertise regarding routine monitoring and testing.
