About the role

The Pilot Plant Senior Associate is accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Pilot Plant, ensuring high productivity and seamless support to the CTSG and R&D teams in meeting project timelines. With a strong emphasis on operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration, this role is pivotal in enhancing the efficiency, capabilities, and strategic impact of the Pilot Plant.

Your responsibilities

- Provide strategic leadership to ensure all Pilot Plant campaigns are executed on time, with scientific rigor and in full compliance with Health & Safety, quality, regulatory, and Reckitt’s internal standards.

- Lead resource planning and allocation across multiple projects ensuring optimal use of team capabilities to meet business priorities.

- Oversee and continuously improve daily Pilot Plant operations by driving productivity, efficiency and alignment with long term operational goals.

- Ensure sustained regulatory and cGMP compliance, maintaining audit readiness and managing the Change Controls, CAPAs, and Deviations related to Pilot plant equipment and processes. 

- Develop and implement training programs for mentoring team members and ensuring consistent knowledge for Pilot Plant operations.

- Foster a high-performance, team-oriented environment, promoting accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.

- Provide strategic support to manufacturing activities including managing of equipment qualification, process optimization and process scale-up with regulatory expectations and project timelines.

- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration to drive process optimization and operational excellence across the Pilot Plant.

- Stay updated of evolving regulatory guidelines and industry best practices, providing strategic guidance to the team and ensuring proactive compliance.

- Identify, escalate, and manage operational risks, ensuring timely resolution and communication to senior leadership.

The experience we're looking for

- A degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Engineering). 

- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical, OTC or small molecule drug product manufacturing or Research & development, including 3 to 5 years in a leadership role within a pilot plant or manufacturing setting.

- Proven track record of managing cross functional teams and resources to deliver complex technical projects on time and within cGMP frameworks.

- Strong understanding of cGMP, Pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and quality systems, including experience handling Change Controls, CAPAs, and Deviations.

- Demonstrated experience in scale up and equipment qualification.

- Hands on experience with continuous improvement methodologies and driving operational excellence initiatives.

- Proficiency in technical training delivery, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

- Experience collaborating with EHS and Quality to ensure safe and compliant operations.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

- Proactive, resilient, and self-motivated strategic thinking.
