About the role
This is a transformational leadership role. You will deliver an enduring positive change on the way in which Core Reckitt develops and delivers new products to the market and manages product changes thereafter, and the organization it needs to do so effectively. You will be the primary representative for Consumer Safety in the PLM programme and ensure that the requirements for consumer safety are fully integrated into product designs. To do so, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders and a community of practice which will include colleagues from Product Development, Specification Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Sustainability amongst others. You will be part of a core PLM team that will define the overall Blueprint for Product Lifecycle Management and its subsequent implementation in the PLM solution.

Your responsibilities
• Be the primary representative of Consumer Safety in the core PLM team. Work collaboratively with other functional Business Process Leaders as part of the PLM core team to define a holistic approach to Product Lifecycle Management.
• Be the primary PLM representative to the RAS Leadership Team for consumer safety. Engage regularly with RAS leaders to keep them informed on progress and to seek help and support to remove roadblocks.
• Working closely with the Consumer Safety community in RAS, define a standardized, PLM process that is fully integrated with those processes set out to identify and manage risk to consumer safety.
• Map the ‘As-is’ and the ‘To-be’ Formulation Management Process, identifying any significant changes to move from the ‘As-is’ to the ‘To-be’.
• Identify the key intersection points of PLM with safety assessment/approval processes and ensure that these interfaces are managed efficiently, data integrity is maintained, roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood and identify any significant changes to move from the ‘As-is’ to the ‘To-be’.
• Compose the formal documentation (SoPs etc.) to capture these processes and associated parts.
• Identify the Data Quality Standards for the data that is created and exchanged as part of these process.
• Define a set of metrics for Data Quality that allows measurement of the improvement in data quality as we transition from the ‘as-is’ to the ‘to be’ and ‘Business as Usual’ thereafter and its positive impact on Business value.
• Lead initiatives within PLM that have a primary focus on consumer safety e.g. generation of Product Safety Data Sheets.
• Define the Roles and Responsibilities associated with the ‘To-be’ process, identifying where these roles already exist and where new Roles will need to be created.
• Build a collaborative, Community of Practice around consumer safety/PLM who have sufficient knowledge, credibility, and authority to input, endorse and support implementation of the ‘to-be’ process and its associated parts.
• Work with this community of Practice and the RAS LT to ensure that any changes to consumer safety processes are managed and implemented smoothly in the PLM solution.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of internal and external change / transformation activities which impact the management of consumer safety (e.g. regs, hazard definitions etc.) and ensure that these are accommodated in PLM in a timely manner.
• Communicate the requirements on consumer safety to IT&D colleagues and work collaboratively with them so that it can be codified in the PLM solution.
• Validate the PLM solution to ensure it correctly reflects accommodates consumer safety requirements and processes as designed and lead change management thereafter.
• Working as part of the PLM Deployment team, communicate and implement the ‘to-be’ process as part of the PLM solution. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise as relevant to consumer safety.
The experience we're looking for
• Good degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Working knowledge as a practitioner in evaluation of consumer safety in an FMCG environment.
• It is preferred that the above Working Knowledge has been gained within Reckitt and in the context of Health and Hygiene products such that the individual already has established, relevant Communities of Practice in which they work that can be built upon.
• Within those Communities of Practice, the individual should already have the credibility, and seniority to command a leadership role and influence colleagues in that space.
• If not from within Reckitt, it is preferred that the above Working knowledge has been gained within either an FMCG and/or pharma environment.
• Previous experience of leading teams and line management.
• It is preferred but not essential that the individual has experience in business process mapping and data management within the context of PLM systems or similar.
• Proven track record in defining and delivering change projects.
• Experience communicating at all levels internally and with external partners.
• A good understanding of the product lifecycle and of regulations impacting the FMCG sector.
• Good IT literacy with proficiency in the use of the MS Office product suite and Office 365.
• Self-motivated with strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to operate successfully in various team capacities and a multi-cultural environment.
• Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks under pressure.
• Ability to influence in areas with no direct reporting authority.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of corporate codes of conduct.
