About the role

R&D Manager - Supply Business Process Lead 

Hybrid Working, Hull

This is a transformational leadership role. You will deliver an enduring positive change in the way in which Core Reckitt develops and delivers new products to the market and manages product changes thereafter, and the organization it needs to do so effectively. You will be the primary representative for Supply in the PLM programme and for ensuring that the requirements for Manufacturing are fully integrated into product designs. To do so, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across Reckitt manufacturing sites and a range of functions including Product Development, Specification Management, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory and Sustainability.

Your responsibilities

  • Be the primary representative of Supply technical in the core Product LIfe Cycle Managment team. Work collaboratively with other Business Process Leaders as part of the PLM core team to define a holistic approach to Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Be the primary PLM representative to the Supply Leadership Team for manufacturing. Engage regularly with Supply leaders to keep them informed on progress and to seek help and support to remove roadblocks.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Reckitt manufacturing sites and EMOs, define a standardized, PLM process that is fully integrated with manufacturing across Reckitt.
  • Map the ‘As-is’ and the ‘To-be’ handover to manufacturing, standardizing roles and responsibilities at this interface and identifying any significant changes to move from the ‘As-is’ to the ‘To-be’ for manufacturing sites
  • Define and integrate into the end-to-end PLM process how Product is obsoleted and the associated criteria for doing so.
  • Work with the Quality BPL, to identify the processes and reporting mechanisms to ensure that the product manufactured is the same as the product designed.
  • Compose formal documentation, (SoPs etc.) to capture these processes and associated parts.
  • Identify the Data Quality Standards for the data that is created and exchanged as part of these processes.

The experience we're looking for

  • Good degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent
  • Working knowledge as a practitioner of formulation scale up for manufacture in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Technical Data Management and BoM management within a factory environment.
  • At least 5 years, recent experience of working in a manufacturing environment/role.
  • Preferred that the above Working knowledge has been gained within either an FMCG, Health, Hygiene pharma environment.
  • Proven track record in defining and delivering change projects.
  • A good understanding of the product lifecycle and of regulations impacting the FMCG sector.
