About the role
The Year in Industry Programme is a structured 12-month industrial placement role that gives university students the opportunity to develop their technical and professional skills in R&D. Student’s joining us on placement will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience with some of the worlds most leading consumer products such as Nurofen, Strepsils and Gaviscon. Working at Reckitt’s state of the art Science and Innovation Centre a placement year will provide a fantastic foundation of knowledge of Reckitt and a unique insight into the workings of a global FMCG company.
There are a variety of placement roles available. We will discuss with you your preferences and the most suitable placement for your degree.
All placements will start in June 2027 and run for 12 months, please ensure before applying that your degree requirements are suitable for this placement.
Your responsibilities
Depending on the team you join your responsibilities could include:
- Providing technical input and supporting a range of a range of developments in our portfolio of products.
- Supporting the Regulatory teams to implement specific rules and regulations that exist for all Reckitt products to be sold globally.
- Preparing and submitting key regulatory dossiers for a number of different product classifications.
- Working with the Consumer Safety team to ensure all products are safe for consumers to use.
- Guiding the business towards safer and more sustainable choices in product design, safety labelling, ingredients and packaging materials.
The experience we're looking for
- You must be currently studying for a relevant scientific degree including, but not limited to, Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Environment Science or any other Life Science degree.
- Positive and inquisitive mindset with the curiosity to challenge when appropriate and ask questions when unsure.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to balance and prioritise tasks/projects.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment to achieve objectives.
- Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
- Ability to listen, absorb and implement constructive feedback and guidance.
