About the role
Location: Hull, HU8 7DS
Our Technical Development Manager will lead the process development and seamless start-up and manufacturing launch of new products. They are responsible for defining and implementing the supply aspects of the healthcare innovation and technology processes. They will influence and work collaboratively with other departments as well as lead their own team of technical development specialists.
Your responsibilities
- Build and maintain the site technical roadmap (New Product Initiatives / Existing Product Development, Technology Transfer), aligned to category/area strategy.
- Ensure teams follow standardised transfer/validation methodologies; readiness to hand over to operations.
- Manage the supply aspects of NPD projects concurrently – with implementation timelines over the next 5 years.
- Coordination of cross business project teams (NPD, BCP, EPD, Factory Support, PPV, technology transfer from R&D or between manufacturing sites).
- Ownership of NPD in areas such as safety, cost, quality and customer service at both internal manufacturing sites and contract manufacturers.
- Troubleshoot as required for process safety management issues linked to formulations and to review the robustness and capability of a wide range of existing pharmaceutical products.
- Provide technical support as required for situations such as key global material changes, development of new manufacturing technologies and business integration during company expansion.
- Lead, coach, and develop the supply development team.
The experience we're looking for
- In-depth knowledge and experience of manufacturing technology.
- 5-10 Years FMCG industry experience, preferably in pharmaceuticals.
- Knowledge of UK, EU and FDA standards and legislation.
- Line Management Experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence at multiple levels is key.
- Good understanding of material properties and processing technology.
