About the role
The Category Management Assistant Manager is responsible for analyzing retailer offtake data to uncover category opportunities and support expansion initiatives. The role will also manage the development and implementation of planogram and merchandising guidelines, using data-driven insights to optimize in-store execution. Proficiency in Nielsen Spaceman software is essential for creating and optimizing planograms based on shopper behavior and sales performance.
Your responsibilities
- Analyse retailer offtake and sell-out data to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities across key customers and channels.
- Support the development and execution of category expansion projects based on data insights and strategic priorities.
- Create, update, and maintain planogram guidelines using Nielsen Spaceman software, ensuring space plans are aligned with category strategies.
- Develop merchandising guidelines that enhance in-store execution and improve the shopper experience.
- Monitor planogram performance and recommend optimizations based on data-driven analysis of space productivity and sales effectiveness.
- Use syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, retailer data) to generate actionable insights for category development and omnichannel activation.
- Assist in preparing category reviews, customer presentations, and internal reporting to support commercial initiatives.
- Ensure planograms and merchandising plans comply with internal standards and retailer requirements.
The experience we're looking for
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, or related roles in FMCG.
- Proficient in Nielsen Spaceman software for planogram development and optimization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data visualization tools is an advantage.
- Good understanding of planogramming principles and retail merchandising practices.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across functions and with external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field.
