About the role
The Channel Key Account Manager is responsible for developing and executing channel strategies to drive sustainable growth and brand penetration within targeted channels across Malaysia. This role serves as a key interface between the company and healthcare professionals (HCPs), procurement departments, and key stakeholders in the key accounts. The position ensures alignment with brand strategy, sales targets, product penetration and growth objectives.
Your responsibilities
Channel Strategy & Medical Key Account Management
• Responsible for generating business opportunities within the assigned key accounts
• Identifies products and/or solutions to meet customer needs to maximize business opportunities.
• Builds understanding of customers key business drivers and uses this knowledge for developing and creating profitable business propositions and partnership.
• Develop key account plan and allocate spending effectively.
• Ensure key accounts plans are implemented in a timely manner.
• Review trade execution campaign and evaluate effectiveness and adjust account plan accordingly
• Negotiate pricing, commercial contracts, trading terms, organizing continues medical education (CME) or partnership campaign to maximize account profitability, product AVR and sustainability.
• Ensure the execution of commercial contracts, promotional campaigns, CMEs and product execution initiatives to drive AVR within targeted accounts
• Liaise with sales managers and trade marketing team for operational matters for the assigned key accounts and medical marketing team related to marketing support/activities.
• Work with internal stakeholders and sales managers to identify channel growth initiatives and implement effectively
• Ensure trade investment effectiveness and within budget
Key Customers & Stakeholders Management
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the key accounts
• Conduct regular visits to pharmacy outlets to understand customer needs, gather feedback, and ensure execution effectiveness
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring timely resolution of issues and continuous engagement.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (e.g., medical, regulatory, marketing) to align customer solutions and communications.
• Proactively identify and develop relationships with key HCPs to drive product advocacy and channel growth
Sales & Performance Management
• Deliver sales targets and KPIs
• Monitor accounts performance, analyze sales data, and generate actionable insights for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution and service delivery.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activities within your assigned channels
Compliance & Ethical Engagement
• Ensure all interactions with healthcare professionals and institutions are conducted in accordance with company policies, local laws, and industry codes of conduct.
The experience we're looking for
• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
• At least 3 – 5 years of working experience, ideally in the consumer healthcare, nutritional or pharmaceutical industry.
