About the role
The Market Internal Controls officer role is to ensure successful delivery of the Controls Transformation programme by supporting the market in implementing the controls. The Market Internal Controls officer is responsible for various Controls activities and assists local management in establishing and maintaining robust and effective internal controls for Reckitt. The Market Internal Controls officer will play a key role in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the Reckitt’s processes and controls.
Controls Transformation programme, one of the key activities under Finance for the Future (FFF), is a Global Transformation initiative focusing on building an effective, efficient and sustainable control environment across Reckitt. Over the next years, we will be working on bringing new ways of working, best practices and new tools to our global finance community and beyond.
Your responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Internal Controls Champion and with support from the Global Controls Transformation Programme drives and delivers:
- Provides guidance to process owners and control owners on relevant internal control matters including control design and documentation requirements.
- Works with process owners and control owners to heighten awareness on management’s responsibility for maintaining adequate internal controls.
- Support local market leadership with understanding and evaluating impacts of changing control requirements to their control environment.
- Support controls owners and operators with remediation of identified controls gaps
- Partners with the Global Controls Transformation programme to provide market feedback and align the approach to addressing control gaps that are broader than just the local market e.g. global process and ERP design
- Assist in preparing training materials that will be used to provide training to management and control owners and operators regarding internal control-related topics.
- Develop and maintain the remediation plans including driving, prioritising and coordination of action plans
- Status reporting to Internal Control Champion.
- Ensure all documentation is maintained appropriately and updated timely with latest updates
The experience we're looking for
- Demonstrable strong knowledge of internal controls and US SOX preferably.
- Business/finance experience (minimum 4-5 years), preferably in FMCG sector
- Knowledge of other core finance end to end business processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, Inventory)
- Experience of having worked in finance positions an advantage
- Big 4 background an advantage
- SAP business process control experience is essential
- Demonstrable ability to engage and manage different level stakeholders and multicultural audience/s through communication and presentation skills
- Fluent spoken & written English and French
- Good organizational skills, ability to move from one task to another efficiently
- Effective and impactful communication skills with an ability to articulate complex concepts in concise language
- Good networking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with virtual teams via video calls, and good use and ability to drive adoption of collaboration tools such as Teams
- Ability to work with the teams located across multiple locations
