About the role
As an Intern Demand Planner, you will support the Demand Planning team and Demand Planning Manager in developing, maintaining, and enhancing demand forecasts for assigned brands to support business objectives, inventory optimization, and service level targets. The role involves preparing and analyzing reports, monitoring key planning metrics, and collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure accurate demand signals and the effective execution of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process. This position offers hands-on exposure to end-to-end Demand and Supply Planning activities within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain planning reports, forecasting systems, and planning tools, while collaborating with Demand Planning and Supply Planning teams to ensure alignment between demand and supply and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the development and maintenance of accurate demand forecasts for assigned brands, categories, or markets by analyzing sales data, market trends, and business inputs.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to gather insights on promotions, product launches, customer activities, and market developments impacting demand.
- Analyze sales trends, demand patterns, and key business drivers to improve forecast reliability and support data-driven decision making.
- Assist the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process by preparing forecast inputs, analyses, and recommendations for monthly planning reviews.
- Monitor forecast performance through key metrics such as Forecast Accuracy and Forecast Bias, identifying root causes of variances and supporting corrective actions
- Monitor inventory levels, product availability, in-transit stock, and obsolete inventory, highlighting potential risks related to excess stock or shortages and supporting service level targets.
The experience we're looking for
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering / Management Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, Finance, or a related analytical field.
- Previous experience (internships or academic projects) in FMCG or a large international company is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in supply chain management and logistics.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and work under tight deadlines
- Proactive, fast learner with a positive mindset and a strong willingness to contribute
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential. Knowledge of SAP is considered a plus.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
The gross monthly salary for this position is €1000 gross.
