About the role
The Logistics Manager will lead warehousing, custom packaging and transportation operations across Canada for Reckitt’s business units. The role takes responsibility for the people, processes and technology supporting service, cost, quality; safety; environment & continuous improvement deliverables in line with commercial direction and supply chain strategy. This position reports to the Supply Services Director and is a core member of the country’s Supply Leadership Team.
Your responsibilities
- Design and maintain cadence of operational structures, processes, partnerships and performance metrics to deliver commercial strategy & P&L targets
- E2E financial ownership of operations from budget-modelling through monthly delivery
- Partner with finance team to ensure transparent accounting and compliance to policies
- Ensure efficient and compliant daily operations across Canadian logistics sites and networks through defined processes, direct team and 3rd/4th party logistics service providers (LSP)
- Maintain strong logistics partnerships – from customs, and for some arrangements from EXW/FCA, through customer shelf and reverse logistics – supporting procurement-led RFPs and defining national logistics strategy, assuring adherence in-term to contracts and technical agreements, and development of Business Continuity Plans
- Continual prioritization of team’s activities in alignment with other functional supply leads, optimizing efforts for live circumstances and future value
- Champion continuous improvement as key supply chain cost productivity and sustainability driver and partner to Customer Service team, cultivating Cost-to-Serve excellence and supporting improvement plans with key customers
- Administration of EH&S programs, such as ISO13485 and ISO14001, to ensure safe, environmentally sustainable operations, with continued improvement
- Lead, motivate, develop and reward supply chain talent & external teams through hands-on leadership style and commitment to growth
- Explore options, deeply analyzing, to build fit-for-purpose distribution networks, including rationalization or decentralization between existing infrastructure processes and business unit operations.
- Support supply planning teams in assuring import and industrial climates are closely monitored and proactively acted upon in times of exposure, including administration of customs processes
The experience we're looking for
- Ideally degree qualified in business or engineering disciplines
- 7+ years operations leadership experience with E2E fiscal ownership, preferably in FMCG, Pharmaceutical or Food & Beverage industry
- In depth knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain Management processes, preference to APICS equivalent or Lean Six Sigma qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian distribution, including best practices and leading suppliers
- Thorough understanding of current and emerging logistics technologies, from systems through equipment, and application of AI
- Proven experience to influence, collaborate and motivate cross functional teams to meet new demands
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and analysis in developing new strategies and initiatives, with track record of change management
- Proven ability to work effectively in a changing, growing environment with multiple key priorities
- Action-oriented, well organized and capable of influencing and leading others to affect successful outcomes, locally and globally
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, with ability to make decisions with high integrity
