About the role
The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing superior business partnerships with customers, anchored on key insights of consumers and their shopping behavior with the end in view of achieving the company’s plans and business priorities within the Retail Channel. This role is also responsible for managing our Broker team and driving sales results through these customers.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and manage customer relationship with buyers; contribute to customer strategy ensuring local Reckitt business objectives are achieved – lead omni channel experience, not leading instore only
- Managing customer negotiations in relation to Reckitt commercial strategy and customers trading terms
- Understand ecomm fundamentals to optimize area of business
- Take ownership of full customer P&L by understanding and managing all trade spend and supply related costs with a focus on reducing inefficient spend.
- Lead the identification of sales opportunities and develop, implement and drive strategies and programs to maximize product sales and ROI within your assigned key accounts and contribute to establish market leadership for Reckitt.
- Provide analytical expertise for total category management across all brands to focus efforts on growing our brands within your key accounts.
- Achieve / exceed all key sales measures and target for the national account (NR, GM, COP, NWC and trade spend).
- Manage the relationship with the broker sales force and oversee the delivery of the targets
- Work in close partnership with brand marketing to ensure development and implementation of customer category strategy and best in class 4P execution
- Work with Category Development Managers to develop plans to drive category / trade business plans; work with field sales to manage customer as key stakeholder
- Partner with Demand Planning to ensure Customer Service levels and met / exceeded
- Overall Continuous improvement - identifying opportunities for efficiency and profitability and overall improvement in the management of categories
The experience we're looking for

A minimum of 7+ years related sales or retail experience with 2-3 years in key account management
- University degree in Business or any related field

Proven experience in building relationships

Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of complex sales plans within budget in the Consumer-packaged goods industry.

Experience selling category management initiatives and programs to customers to achieve greater category success.
- People management experience is an asset
The skills for success
- Ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources, and to translate data into actionable market strategies.
- Clear understanding of Canadian retail dynamics.
- Project management, sound judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Capacity to work under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of Syndicated Data and Customer Management Process, as well as Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage through ambiguity and make decisions
