About the role
As an R & D Category Assistant at Reckitt, you will thrive in our fast-paced environment alongside a team of expert scientists dedicated to ensuring product safety and efficacy. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in supporting technical dossier management and analytical lab compliance.
Your responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct Pilot Plant batches to support R&D Project bulk and sample needs. Able to safely make batches in Laboratory and Pilot Plant setting, with the ability to lift/maneuver up to 40 lbs.
- Maintain Laboratory and Pilot Plant equipment and execute work according to required safety and quality standards, as defined in the company SOPs. Document all work in lab notebooks. Participate in periodic quality audits. Train personnel on Pilot Plant operations.
- Support the development of optimized processes for new products in development. Work closely with formula development teams to understand formulations and key formula sensitivities and translate those into scale-up batching.
- Apply scale-up engineering principles to evaluate key process parameters and perform calculations required to design evidence-based scale-up strategies that ensure process robustness from lab to pilot to factory.
- Apply core engineering principles to assess and compare equipment designs across scales and provide practical recommendations that support sound scale‑up decisions.
- Support Industrial Trial preparation, including travel to factories to lead as technical expert (US & International).
- Support cross-functional teams with troubleshooting production issues.
The experience we're looking for
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related Science and 0-2 years relevant experience.
- Prior experience of working in pilot-plant / process scale-up will be highly preferred (though not mandatory)
- Capability to manage projects, large and small, with diligence and efficiency to meet key milestones.
- Strong communication skills, capable of providing advice and best practice guidance.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude for innovative thinking and an entrepreneurial attitude within scientific realms.
- Experience working under pressure, prioritizing quality while delivering on deadlines.
- This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement at this time.

US salary ranges
USD $71,000.00 - $107,000.00
US pay transparency
The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
