About the role
This is a transformational leadership role. You will deliver an enduring positive change in the way in which Core Reckitt develops and delivers new products to the market and manages product changes thereafter, and the organisation it needs to do so effectively. You will be the primary representative for Quality in the PLM programme and for ensuring that the requirements for Quality are fully integrated into product designs. To do so, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across Reckitt R&D and manufacturing sites and a range of functions including Product Development, Specification Management, Procurement, Regulatory, Sustainability and Supply. You will be part of a core PLM team that will define the overall Blueprint for Product Lifecycle Management and its subsequent implementation in the PLM solution.

Your responsibilities
- Be the primary representative of Quality in the core PLM team. Work collaboratively with other Business Process Leaders as part of the PLM core team to define a holistic approach to Product Lifecycle Management.
- Be the primary PLM representative to the Quality Leadership Team. Engage regularly with Quality leaders to keep them informed on progress and to seek help and support to remove roadblocks.
- Lead initiatives within PLM that have a primary focus on Quality, ensuring all Interfaces with existing processes and systems used for Quality documentation, testing and compliance are considered.
- Map the ‘As-is’ and the ‘To-be’ handoffs to Quality teams, standardising roles and responsibilities at this interface and identifying any significant changes to move from the ‘As-is’ to the ‘To-be’ for both R&D and manufacturing.
- Identify the processes and reporting mechanisms to ensure that the product manufactured is the same as the product designed. Composing formal documentation, (SoPs etc.) to capture these processes and associated parts.
- Define the Roles and Responsibilities associated with the ‘To-be’ process, identifying where these roles already exist and where new Roles will need to be created.
- Work closely with the core PLM Team ensuring that changes to Raw material and Packaging Specifications, Test methods, Recipes and other associated PLM data/documents continue to meet Quality requirements for incoming material and finished product inspection. (consider aspects such as standards for shelf life, use of printed pack specs by on site quality teams)
- Develop community of practice for Quality and work with these SME’s and LT to ensure that any changes are managed and implemented smoothly in the PLM solution.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of internal and external transformation activities which impact quality, ensuring that these are accommodated in PLM in a timely manner and that we continue to maintain GxP standards.
- Validate the PLM solution to ensure it correctly reflects and accommodates Quality requirements for Both Internal manufacture and EMO processes as designed, that Data quality standards are sufficient and lead change management thereafter.
The experience we're looking for
- Good degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Working knowledge as a practitioner of Quality procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Technical Data Management and BoM associated quality requirements within a factory environment.
- It is preferred that the above Working Knowledge has been gained within Reckitt and in the context of Health and/or Hygiene products, such that the individual already has established, relevant Communities of Practice in which they work that can be built upon.
- Recent experience of working in a manufacturing/R&D environment/Quality role.
- Preferred experience of working in more than one Reckitt manufacturing site.
- Within those Communities of Practice, the individual should already have the credibility and seniority to command a leadership role and influence colleagues in that space.
- If not from within Reckitt, it is preferred that the above Working knowledge has been gained within either an FMCG and/or pharma environment.
- Previous experience of leading teams and line management.
- It is preferred but not essential that the individual has experience in business process mapping and data management within the context of PLM systems or similar.
- Proven track record in defining and delivering change projects.
- Experience communicating at all levels internally and with external partners.
- A good understanding of the product lifecycle and of regulations impacting the FMCG sector.
- Good IT literacy with proficiency in the use of the MS Office product suite and Office 365.
- Self-motivated with strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to operate successfully in various team capacities and a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks under pressure.
- Ability to influence areas with no direct reporting authority.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of corporate codes of conduct.
- The business language in RB is English, therefore fluency in English is essential and fluency in local languages advantageous.
Additional Requirements of the role.
- *Preference is for this role to be located at Nottm/Hull but other sites may be considered. The individual will need to be mobile/flexible since the role will require physical attendance at meetings when appropriate and travel to meet and build strong relationships with Community of Practice members and the PLM community.
