About the role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised leader to manage and coordinate our Release for Sale team, ensuring products are released efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements. You will oversee batch documentation review prior to QP certification, manage key release KPIs, and work closely with cross‑functional teams — including Customer Services — to ensure release timelines meet customer and business needs.

Success in this role requires strong people leadership, the ability to influence across teams, and a keen eye for identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes. You will be expected to present clear process flows, support continuous improvement, and develop team members through direct coaching and guidance

Your responsibilities

  • Manage the Release for Sale (RFS) team, overseeing batch documentation review prior to QP certification.
  • Ensure the Release for Sale system is fit for purpose, compliant, and continuously improved.Maintain control of non‑compliant stock, ensuring it remains under quarantine until issues are fully resolved.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures align with GMP and GDP requirements.
  • Monitor, manage, and improve key release KPIs through both reactive and strategic actions.
  • Work closely with Customer Services to ensure product release meets customer expectations and service levels.
  • Lead training and people development activities within the RFS team.
  • Provide essential support during audits, demonstrating compliance and effectiveness of the RFS process.
  • Ensure batch records are thoroughly reviewed and all retained samples are securely archived.

The experience we're looking for

  • A‑Level or Degree‑level education (or equivalent).
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence using digital systems.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, or the ability to quickly develop competence in this area.
  • Understanding of GMP and ISO systems, with a willingness to learn further.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
  • Conscientious and thorough in reviewing information and documentation.
  • Proactive in identifying potential compliance issues and escalating or resolving them appropriately.
  • Experience of, or familiarity with, a fast‑paced manufacturing or consumer goods environment — particularly relating to quality and product release compliance.
  • Ability to work to demanding targets and deadlines.
  • Broad knowledge of Quality / Good Manufacturing Practice and experience working in a KPI‑driven environment.
  • Good understanding of electronic quality systems.
