About the role

The Category Activation Medical Affairs Senior Associate plays a key role in translating scientific evidence into effective market activation strategies. Serving as the medical point of contact for the Category Acceleration Pod (CAP), regional teams, and external stakeholders, this role provides scientific expertise and medical leadership for the Biofreeze portfolio across the U.S.

Working closely with Global Medical Affairs, Evidence Generation teams, and commercial colleagues, the incumbent supports the creation, review, approval, and dissemination of scientifically accurate materials, healthcare professional (HCP) education initiatives, advocacy programs, and promotional activities. The role is responsible for providing authoritative medical insight, addressing scientific inquiries, and ensuring medical relevance in strategic business decisions.

In partnership with the Category Activation Medical Affairs Pain & Biofreeze E2E Senior Manager, the role supports the development and execution of medical strategies that strengthen scientific credibility, support evidence dissemination, and drive category growth in the U.S. market.

  • Provide medical leadership, scientific insight, and oversight to the Category Acceleration Pod (CAP) and U.S. business teams.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation, communication, and amplification of scientific evidence tailored to U.S. healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
  • Support internal medical education and evidence dissemination initiatives to strengthen scientific understanding across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs and Evidence Generation teams to ensure innovation pipelines and new evidence are aligned with U.S. market needs and can be implemented efficiently.
  • Drive scientific relevance within brand development initiatives (BDIs), omnichannel campaigns, and healthcare professional engagement strategies.
  • Support compliance, maintenance, and medical affairs requirements for the existing portfolio, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute medical expertise to advocacy programs designed to influence clinical practice, patient pathways, and healthcare policy.
  • Provide timely, evidence-based responses to medical and scientific inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure medical accuracy and scientific integrity across all category activation activities and materials.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key scientific, healthcare, and professional stakeholders to support category objectives and identify emerging trends.

Your responsibilities

Ensure alignment on a consistent, evidence-based scientific narrative across internal and external stakeholders.

Partner with Global Medical Affairs to develop and execute evidence dissemination strategies that support U.S. business needs, including publications and congress activities.

Provide strategic medical input to category teams by amplifying scientific evidence and identifying evidence-generation needs for the U.S. market.

Create, review, approve, and communicate scientific content related to assigned categories. Maintain awareness of emerging clinical literature and medical developments, informing relevant regional and global teams of significant findings.

Deliver timely, balanced, and scientifically substantiated responses to medical and scientific inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain scientific expertise through participation in relevant conferences, professional meetings, and educational activities.

Provide regional medical leadership and strategic guidance throughout product development and launch activities, collaborating closely with global teams to ensure successful execution.

Advise on medical strategies to leverage positive scientific data and address potential risks, adverse publicity, or emerging medical concerns.

Provide medical support for clinical programs, protocols, and evidence-generation initiatives to ensure alignment with regulatory, scientific, and commercial objectives.

Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs and Evidence Generation teams on post-marketing studies, local clinical trials, and other evidence-generation activities.

Represent the organization with external healthcare stakeholders, scientific communities, and professional organizations as required.

Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare organizations to identify emerging trends, monitor scientific developments, and support assigned products and categories

The experience we're looking for

Degree in natural sciences, preferably Pharmacy or Medicine 

Significant experience in Medical Affairs preferably for OTC products or equivalent experience e.g. gained in a pharmacy 

Experience of managing KOL relationships

Experience of bridging between commercial and scientific functions

Demonstrable experience in creating scientific assets 

Significant experience in Medical Affairs preferably for OTC products or equivalent experience e.g. gained in a pharmacy 

Deep understanding of medical and pharmaceutical aspects of OTC products 

Profound user knowledge of all standard IS applications (MS-Office etc). 

Experience of managing KOL relationships 

Experience of bridging between commercial and scientific functions 

Demonstrable experience in creating scientific assets 

Experience in Pharmacovigilance 

Experience with other types of products like Medical devices, Personal care products.

US salary ranges

USD $121,000.00 -  $181,000.00
