About the role
The RB NA Tax Department is seeking a highly motivated and qualified tax professional to manage a variety of North American tax projects primarily related to US Federal and State income tax matters in areas such as compliance, reporting, state audits and planning.This individual will report to the Tax Director, Compliance and Reporting while also working closely with various levels of leadership within the company. This position will have one direct report.
Your responsibilities
- Responsible for US tax accounting and reporting requirements, including federal and state tax provision matters such as ETR calculations/management and tax reserve positions.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to support year-end audits and ensure timely filings.
- Manage federal tax compliance, including extensions, and estimated payments.
- Conduct ad hoc Federal and various project related research and analysis
- Assist with tax planning, operational initiatives and other transaction-based projects such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, carve-out tax reporting, etc.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company’s tax position.
- Manage/develop tax internal controls and other tax policies/processes.
- Contribute to tax technology improvements in areas such as tax compliance/provision software, fixed assets, and SAP integration, including liaising with operations.
- Assist with IRS controversy matters.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing environment by, for example, authoring/teaching educational sessions and developing junior team members.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MST desired.
- Minimum 8-12 years relevant corporate tax experience
- Strong federal and state compliance experience
- Strong proficiency in CorpTax software and other tax research and technology tools is a plus.
- Strong written, analytical, organizational, and communication skills required.
- Familiarity with international tax compliance and transfer pricing is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, HFM).
