About the role

At Reckitt, we're looking for a Legal Director who will become a core member of our Regional Leadership Team. In this strategic position, you'll advance our business goals while upholding the highest legal standards. You will be influential in fostering cohesive partnerships across different functions, becoming the cornerstone of legal expertise in our fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities

•    Provide general legal advice/counseling, contract review/negotiation services, and litigation management.
•    Provide commercial advertising review.  
•    Employment law, privacy law and anti-trust law experience a plus.
•    Soft intellectual property law (trademark, copyright) experience a plus. 
•    Experience of multinational compliance programmes.
•    Leading a team of 1 lawyer and 1 paralegal.
•    Membership of both the Essential Home North America leadership team and the Essential Home Global Legal leadership team.  

The experience we're looking for

•    An experienced executive and credible leader who can motivate their team and be a strategic business partner that fosters the development of a business-friendly, solutions-driven legal function. 
•    You will be an action oriented, performance-focused person, who enjoys autonomy, can navigate ambiguity, can operate in a cross-functional, matrixed organization, and interface with a diverse and international employee population.
•    Other requirements for this position include:  
•    Law degree and minimum of 10 years’ experience with a major corporation in a relevant industry.  
•    Experience in commercial transactions in the consumer products industry.  
•    Admitted to a State Bar in good standing in one or more jurisdictions in the U.S.  Early training at a major law firm is preferred. 
•    Quick thinking, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external senior management, solving problems on a real-time basis. 
•    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
•    Demonstrated negotiation skills. 
•    Strong problem-solving skills. 
•    Strong desire to learn the business and function smoothly as part of an interdisciplinary team. 
•    Strong team management and influencing skills. 
•    Hands-on orientation, ability to function with a minimum of administrative support.
