About the role

  • The role will be instrumental in factory design Change Control, work as quality representative for NPD/EPD/factory modification projects and other aspects of design responsible for continual improvement in achieving quality excellence.
  • To lead and proactively manage all aspects of site hygienic design, NPD/EPD that may impact on product safety, quality and efficiency. Ensure fully comply with Reckitt hygienic design policies, regulations and international standards, and act as a consultant on all microbiological/hygienic subjects. 

Your responsibilities

Scope and Accountabilities: 

  1. All hygienic design related to utility & facility, equipment, process, personnel, raw material, bulk and finished product.
  2. All the products manufactured in Qingdao London Durex Co., Ltd.
  3. Comply with regulations pertaining to medical devices, as well as the company's quality management system documents. Ensure that the work performed in this position meets GMP requirements and fulfill the obligations related to product quality and safety as outlined in the relevant quality management documents. 
  4. Act as the consultant on all microbiology/hygiene topics to provide expertise knowledges and advices to operations, engineering and technical teams. Provide support for Capex projects approval with microbiology/hygiene impact.
  5. Act as the leader of all microbiology/hygiene compliance issues, highlight the risks to site quality manager, global hygienist and key stakeholders, complete and maintain site risk assessment and agree on rolling action plan with site management team.
  6. Responsible for fully comply with good hygienic design requirements, ensure appropriate microbiological and hygienic design standards are all in place and implemented all microbiological procedures across the manufacturing site.
  7. Requires to close working with QA, QC, Engineering, Operations, Technical team to ensure each part of the product lifecycle and project all comply with microbiology and hygiene best practice. Give guidance to microbe method validation. 
  8. Lead as subject matter expert for internal and external audit activities related to microbiology and Hygiene. Conduct regular hygiene audits onsite to verify compliance level of Reckitt policies and procedures, and make the annual summary report to site lead team about overall compliance and microbe risks.
  9. Work closely with global hygienist to develop and review Reckitt health policies on good hygienic design and microbiological standard, ensure that the site fully complies with current Reckitt standard and expectations of regulatory agencies.
  10. Work directly with R&D on all related product vulnerabilities, RM/product technical specification for micro-b and formulation risk assessment related topics.
  11. Continuously build and improve the technical capabilities of all site terms in terms of microbiology and hygiene, especially the engineering team and influence the wider team who provide micro-b quality assurance for the manufacturing site.
  12. Ensure there are appropriate microbiological/hygiene training plans delivered to leadership team and workshop operators in all aspects of hygiene, product risk, good practice and microbiology awareness.
  13. To support the MOS. 
  14. Complete tasks assigned by line manager. 

The experience we're looking for

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Microbiology, Chemistry Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Food or Pharma related.
  2. At least 5 years’ experience in quality or manufacturing environment of Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, FMCG industry.
  3. Decision making skills and communication skills.
  4. Strong data analytical and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
  5. Strong ability to review and identify issues/opportunities in the business.
  6. Strong knowledges in GMP, hygienic design, regulations, regulatory guidelines for cosmetic/ disinfection/medical device products.
  7. Audit handling experience.
