About the role

As an R & D Category Assistant at Reckitt, you will thrive in our fast-paced environment alongside a team of expert scientists dedicated to ensuring product safety and efficacy. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in supporting technical dossier management and analytical lab compliance.

Your responsibilities

- Ensure all technical aspects of the product development, maintenance, assessment of external products (RTG) and demo development etc. are carried out as per the agreed timings with correct documentation & procedures. Any issues or risks clearly highlighted to line manager in a timely manner.
- Ensure all relevant product specifications and internal documentation is in place and fully approved prior to full production start-up & responsible for the compilation, approval and circulation of technical reports throughout the product development process, to ensure full audit readiness. Enforce quality mind by ‘Right first time’ practice for working in area by following documented procedures & follow good documentation practice.
- To be consumer & digitally minded to develop new product ideas and pipeline moving forward. Create and develop new robust evaluation methodologies leading to sustainable and consumer-relevant claims.
- Actively to support any initiatives or developments to ensure all activities must conform to legislative, health & safety and environmental requirements. Work as part of wider team to drive the continuous improvement of processes & systems to ensure ability for China & ensure this meets requirements of RECKITT systems.
- Be aware for safety, health & environment in workplace all time to ensure free-accident & good environment area of working.
- Follow safety, health & environment regulations & policy by working safely, reporting unsafe condition / unsafe act / near miss accident to supervisor as well as suggest for any improvement.
- Keep abreast of competitor activity in assigned areas.

 

The coordination of site H&S activities to ensure (for R&D safety representative only):
- compliance with relevant H&S legal / regulatory requirements
- compliance with Corporate H&S Policy, Standards and performance requirements
- To ensure continual improvement in H&S performance in R&D team by collecting BBS from each R&D people and follow actions.
- To act as the site's point of knowledge/ advice/ as regards H&S issues including legal and Group requirements, and practical day-to-day management
- To ensure as far as is reasonably practicable that facility management, personnel and any on-site contractors are aware of the actual and potential H&S aspects / impacts and legal compliance requirements relevant to their roles, responsibilities and activities
- To report H&S issues of concern to facility management in a timely manner as per Reporting policy.
- To report safety situation in management review meeting at certain period and ensure everyone in team have a safety-first mind set.
- Lead safety audit as R&D representative to ensure key issues be addressed and resolved in a proper way.
- Site adequately resources for H&S coverage that is proportionate to site and complexity of process (e.g. For R&D locations within Supply sites, it is acceptable for the R&D H&S Coordinator / Manager to be covered by the Supply site role, for standalone R&D sites managed independently from the Supply site, it is expected the H&S Coordinator / Manager has basic H&S qualification)

The experience we're looking for

- At least bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (sciences or engineering).
- Relevant experience within product development role within FMCG environment with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in R&D.
- Results oriented, self-motivated with an ability to evaluate and take calculated risks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation plans and able to transform solid thinking into action (a thinker and an achiever)
- Openness to change and ability to think outside the box.
- Strong intellectual curiosity with an appetite for exploring new and previously uncharted territories and an openness to change and an ability to think out of the box
- Good English skills with experience in international company an advantage
