The Regional Medical Affairs Associate is a member of the Medical Science function responsible for localisation of the category medical sciences strategy, focusing on the activation of innovations and claims in compliance to local guidelines, policy, and regulations. The post holder cascades new & existing evidence, ensuring the complex is communicated in an easy to understand and compelling manner to relevant stakeholders. They also amplify and protect Reckitt’s external visibility and scientific credibility through local scientific engagement and through regional and local scientific comms.
Your responsibilities
The position is accountable to the Medical Science Director, Europe & Emerging Markets and finally to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Health, working closely with others as part of the matrix. The role interacts as appropriate with other internal functions including Safety, Quality, Regulatory and Compliance, Clinical, R&D, Marketing etc. The role also interacts with external partners including KOLs & Health Organisations & Authorities.
Main responsibilities:
- Localisation of the category medical sciences strategy and execution of regional medical affairs activities within Brazil.
- Provide ongoing medical education to HCPs and product training to internal colleagues (e.g. sales reps, marketing, regulatory etc) to ensure that evidence is understood and healthcare products are promoted appropriately by medical representatives.
- Establishing and maintaining ongoing liaison and effective relationships/partnerships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare organizations.
- Provide responses to scientific and medical enquiries from a range of local internal and external (e.g Health authorities) stakeholders whilst ensuring they are balanced and underpinned by current scientific literature.
- Medical strategy and support for local Marketing Authorization, Applications and variations.
- Contribute to the local portfolio innovation & maintenance process by applying relevant medical scientific knowledge.
- Stay abreast of latest literature, current medical opinion, guidance, and regulations to ensure up-to-date knowledge.
The experience we're looking for
Mandatory for the position:
- A solid understanding of biological sciences, preferably backed by a bachelor’s degree in healthcare or life sciences;
- 3-5 years of work experience within the pharmaceutical industry;
- Track record of building strong KOLs & External Scientific Partnerships;
- Proven ability to generate, analyze and interpret scientific and clinical data;
- Ability to critique journal articles and publications to support claims and medical documentation on products;
- Experience in systematic searches, reviewing scientific data, and preparing medical or scientific documents (e.g. publications and experience in medical writing, systematic review and clinical data appraisal) to a high standard;
- Sound knowledge of the local guidelines and directives;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and products simultaneously with ability to prioritise and to ensure timely, on-target and within budget accomplishment of tasks;
- Critical thinking, with effective communication to influence colleagues from a range of fields;
- Fluent in English.
Desirable for the position:
- Doctor, Pharmacist or PhD in healthcare or life sciences.
- Proficient in Spanish
