About the role

Our Facilities Lead offers expertise of the site wide utilities to the Facilities, Maintenance and Engineering teams.  This role will direct, perform and supervise corrective and planned maintenance activities to facility equipment and ensure the building and site is maintained to the correct standards. Responsible to ensure safe working conditions, minimize downtime of equipment, and to produce high quality consumer products. The position must work with a sense of urgency to ensure the demanding needs of keeping the plant and all of the utilities operational 24/7 as necessary.

Your responsibilities

  • Coordinates utilities and building maintenance in conjunction with production requirements.
  • Manages contractors for service and maintenance activities related to grounds, building and utilities.
  • Manages projects for continuous improvement activities or planned maintenance shutdowns
  • Inspects production equipment for mechanical defects and coordinates repairs to improve efficiency and ensure standards are consistently met.
  • Coaches and develops department staff to ensure a consistent service and enhance quality and quantity of employee work.
  • Inspects department facilities and reports damage to Facilities Manager and Production Managers when necessary
  • Coordinates and prioritizes emergency repairs to minimize downtime and / or items that will affect quality and safety.
  • Analyses and recommends safety improvements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Lead and develop continuous improvement of the performance of the team and equipment and process at site.
  • Communicate with internal customers and support functions to ensure delivery of KPI’s.
  • Lead/co-ordination of breakdown and engineering activities for the facilities equipment.
  • Complete route cause analysis, in line with down time procedure to Identify and implement preventative solutions.
  • Support successful implementation of planned maintenance and new projects.
  • Use escalation process for line stoppages or breakdowns in excess of 15 mins or two consecutive hours of below target OEE.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in respect of safety, cGMP and quality systems

The experience we're looking for

  • Facility maintenance experience in vitamin, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical environment. Other facility related type maintenance will be considered.
  • Good working knowledge of plant utilities including HVAC, steam boilers, cooling water, Purified Water, dust collection, compressed air, wastewater treatment
  • Analytical skills with drive to implement improvements
  • Understanding of building and facilities management processes / systems and EP608A refrigerated systems preferred.

Pay Rate

Starting at $30/hour.

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
