About the role

This is a hands-on technical position that perform corrective and planned maintenance activities to the facility equipment to provide service to production needs, and ensure the building and site is maintained to the correct standards. Responsible to ensure safe working conditions, minimize downtime of equipment, and to produce high quality consumer products.

The position must work with a sense of urgency to ensure the demanding needs of keeping the plant and all of the utilities operational 24/7 as necessary. It is expected tasks will be performed with minimal guidance and supervision on days, evening and weekends as needed

Your responsibilities

· Performs utilities and building maintenance in conjunction with production requirements.

· Manages contractors for service and maintenance activities.

· Inspects production equipment for mechanical defects and coordinates repairs to improve efficiency and ensure standards are consistently met.

· Evaluates employee performance to determine annual salary increases and administers disciplinary actions when necessary.

· Inspects department facilities and reports damage to Facilities Manager and Production Managers when necessary

· Coordinates and prioritizes emergency repairs to minimize downtime and / or items that will affect quality and safety.

· Analyses and recommends safety improvements to ensure a safe working environment.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· Plan for, establish, and perform preventative and predictive maintenance according to the schedule.

· Working in a team environment, maintain the facilities, warehouse equipment and support production equipment and personnel as needed in a safe and efficient manner.

· Must provide excellent customer service to all internal customers.

· Responsible for the purchase of spare parts, procurement of quotes for equipment, and equipment modifications within prescribed budgets.

· Must improve the design and function of the facilities equipment.

The experience we're looking for

· 5+ year’s facility maintenance experience in vitamin, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical environment. Other facility or production related type maintenance will be considered.

· A proven background of performing and improving preventive maintenance and autonomous maintenance.

· Good working knowledge of plant utilities including HVAC, steam, cooling water, Purified Water, dust collection, compressed air, wastewater treatment

· Analytical skills with drive to implement improvements
