Our Sales teams help to deliver Reckitt's purpose by building shared success with our customers, making access to the highest quality hygiene, wellness, and nourishment possible in-stores and online. Within Sales, we're focused on achieving outperformance across all of our channels, operating in highly competitive categories. This focus results in a dynamic, fast paced environment where cross functional teams are encouraged to collaborate to achieve success. We have around 10,000 sales people across the world, within market roles and ranging in areas like Field Sales, Key Accounts, Trade Marketing and Category Development.

About the role

Area Sales Manager is the lead, incharge of the geographical area/ channel assigned – Ensuring presence of range of Reckitt products, compliance measures in line with brand/ category strategic objectives. Managing Distributor field force efficiencies in line with company set of KPIs. 

The position is responsible for managing the MT/ Retail & Wholesale universe within the geographic strata assigned to the role. Ensuring the designed RTM functions smoothly in tandem with distributor operations. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager & manages a team of 1 -3 TS/ TM.   

Your responsibilities

  • Analyze sales data and explore business opportunities for the assigned area.
  • Market Executions and Instore Excellence helping customer push by managing effective deployment of all trade tools  
  • Estimate and monitor competition sales and distribution activities in the area and develop and implement appropriate measures / proactive actions.
  • RTM Structure optimized to needs of the Area 
  • Distributor Operations in line with RTM needs. The strategy being followed in actuality on ground 
  • Achieve Primary & IMS targets with set RR/ YTD ambitions as per Region’s growth ambitions
  • KPI Benchmark Achievement of 30-5-65 
  • Identify weak areas & provide regular training to distributors, OBs and their salesmen through on the job training as planned in the monthly tour program, agree on annual objectives and review performance on quarterly basis and at year end. 
  • Establish strong working relationship at all levels i.e. TSOs, TSEs, Distributors, Trade and TSPs and provide timely and quality information to the Regional Sales Manager. 
  • Set KPIs being met by the team – Productivities, Lines/ Call, MSL & driving tech initiatives to catalyse business growth 
  • Ensure lean but sufficient infrastructure that meets growth ambitions + DB profitability needs 
  • Develop distributor’s development and value addition plans to improve on the distribution efficiency and improve ROI.

The experience we're looking for

  • Educated to a minimum of bachelors degree level in a business related subject from a recognised university 

  • 2-3 years experience in Sales in an FMCG environment
