About the role

The Field‑based Nutrition Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a highly visible, field‑focused role (around 80% in the field) acting as an extension of the Medical Director to strengthen and amplify our scientific platforms across the healthcare community. This position is responsible for building strong, trust‑based relationships with TTLs/KOLs and first‑line practitioners in paediatric nutrition, delivering scientific education in hospitals, and providing medical insights to internal partners such as Medical, Sales and Marketing. The MSL serves as a key scientific ambassador for Mead Johnson Nutrition, translating complex science into clear value for healthcare professionals, contributing to internal training, and activating engagement plans that highlight our superior scientific portfolio and support better nutrition outcomes for children.

Your responsibilities

  • Ability to develop and execute TTL engagement plans, including mapping stakeholders and defining targeted actions.
  • Experience creating visit call plans with KPIs to drive knowledge and behaviour change among HCPs/TTLs.
  • Strong capability to lead TTL activation and medical education initiatives, aligned with brand and portfolio strategy.
  • Proven skills in insight gathering from TTLs/HCPs and translating them into actionable recommendations for Medical, Sales and Marketing.
  • Strong scientific communication skills - presenting data, supporting CME programs, and adapting medical materials with Regional/EU Medical.
  • Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally to develop compelling scientific narratives and support internal training.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills with TTLs/KOLs, tailoring communication and integrating scientific data into real‑world practice.
  • Demonstrated scientific acumen and continuous learning mindset, keeping up to date with research, conferences and field insights.

The experience we're looking for

  • Degree in pediatrics, nutrition, pharmacy or dietetics, plus at least 3 years of experience in pediatric nutrition science.
  • In‑depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge, particularly in neonatal/pediatric nutrition.
  • Results‑oriented, entrepreneurial and self‑motivated approach, with a high level of initiative and flexibility.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling effective relationship‑building across cross‑functional and multi‑level teams.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation plans.
  • A collaborative mindset - strong teamwork and cooperation are essential for success in this role.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities, with credibility and ethical conduct recognized by the external medical community.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Fluency in English, Dutch/Flemish is an asset.
  • Highly self‑driven with strong territory management and strategic field-planning skills, suited to a role requiring 80% field time.
