About the role

The Senior Electronic Engineer plays a key role in the design and development of consumer electronic devices, contributing deep technical expertise in circuit design, prototyping, validation, and mass‑production readiness. This role is responsible for delivering robust, cost‑effective, and compact electronic solutions that meet performance, safety, regulatory, and user‑experience requirements typical of high‑volume consumer products. The Senior Engineer also provides technical mentorship to junior engineers and supports cross‑functional collaboration throughout the product life cycle.

Your responsibilities

1. Electronic Circuit & System Design

  • Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits for consumer devices, including sensors, power management, microcontrollers, wireless modules, and user‑interface electronics.
  • Create schematics, perform simulation/analysis, and define PCB architecture.
  • Conduct component selection, balancing technical performance, lifecycle, cost, and supply chain stability.
  • Ensure designs meet low‑power, thermal, mechanical, and size constraints.

2. Prototyping, Testing & Validation

  • Build and evaluate electronic prototypes (EVT/DVT).
  • Conduct hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Perform design verification testing, reliability testing, and environmental testing relevant to consumer devices (thermal cycling, drop test, ESD, HALT).
  • Lead root‑cause analysis of hardware issues and drive corrective actions.

3. Support for High‑Volume Manufacturing

  • Work closely with manufacturing engineering and EMS/JDM/ODM partners during PCBA and product builds.
  • Provide technical guidance for DFM/DFX and optimize designs for reliable mass production.
  • Support pilot builds, yield improvement, and production ramp‑up activities.

4. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Firmware, Mechanical, Product Management, ID, and Quality teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and system‑level architecture discussions.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Generate detailed engineering documentation: schematics, BOM, test plans, validation reports, and change requests.
  • Ensure compliance with consumer electronics standards, including:
    • Electrical safety: UL/IEC
    • EMI/EMC: FCC, CE
    • Environmental: RoHS, REACH
  • Support regulatory submissions and certification testing.

6. Mentorship & Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and interns.
  • Drive best practices in design methodology, documentation, and continuous improvement.

The experience we're looking for

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 5–8+ years of hands‑on hardware development experience, ideally in consumer electronics (wearables, handheld devices, smart home, audio, personal care devices, or portable devices).
  • Strong track record of taking at least one or more products through full development cycles from concept to mass production.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in analog/digital circuitry, microcontrollers, sensors, and power management.
  • Experience with low‑power and battery‑powered designs.
  • Skilled in ECAD tools such as Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, or OrCAD.
  • Experience with EMC/EMI mitigation techniques and debugging.
  • Understanding of wireless technologies (BLE, Wi‑Fi, NFC) is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with SMT processes, PCBA manufacturing, and test fixture development.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced, cross‑functional project environments.
  • High attention to detail and strong ownership of technical outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with EMS, ODM, or JDM partners.
  • Background in designing products for global markets with multi‑regional standards.
  • Knowledge of structured problem‑solvuing tools (5 Whys, Ishikawa, 8D).
  • Experience with reliability engineering or quality‑critical designs.
