About the role
As an R&D PDM Associate - PLM Formulation, you will support the delivery of high quality product data and documentation within the PLM 2.0 programme and the broader PDM function.
You will be responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining finished product documentation in line with PLM standards, governance requirements, and cross functional needs. Working under the guidance of the R&D PLM Enterprise Program Manager, you will play an active role in ensuring documents are accurate, complete, and aligned with the latest technical information. You will also help optimise documentation workflows and contribute to data preparation activities required for PLM adoption.
This role requires strong collaboration with teams across R&D, Supply, Regulatory, Safety, Quality, and global PDM teams, alongside the core PLM team, to ensure data accuracy, optimise documentation workflows, and support the adoption of new PLM processes and tools.
Your responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain finished product documents aligned with PLM requirements, ensuring suitability for cross‑site use.
- Review and verify data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across documentation systems, addressing discrepancies with stakeholders.
- Consolidate and organise documentation to reduce duplication and support harmonisation across teams and sites.
- Prepare and update data packs for product changes, sourcing transitions, and compliance activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to PLM data preparation tasks, including data migration, cleansing, validation, and standardisation. (Unchanged as requested)
- Contribute to PLM testing activities by supporting UAT planning, data entry, reviews, and identification of issues for further action.
- Update and refine process maps, templates, and documentation formats in alignment with PLM ways of working.
- Monitor data quality metrics, identify deviations, and communicate required corrections to relevant functions.
- Work closely with Regulatory, Safety, Procurement, Quality, Supply Technical and PDM teams to ensure documentation reflects current product status.
- Liaise with Business Process Leaders (BPLs) and the PLM Core Team to support alignment of data, processes, and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to simplify documentation workflows, improve data structure, and strengthen compliance, and raise these for consideration.
- Support troubleshooting of documentation or data issues during PLM deployment or BAU, escalating complex matters for timely decision‑making.
The experience we're looking for
- A degree in a relevant scientific or technical discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Formulation Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry)
- Experience in R&D PDM, analytical development, formulation support, or product documentation roles in FMCG/pharma is desirable.
- 2+ Years Experience in data and document management within FMCG or pharmaceutical + environments.
- Experience with technical documentation, data management, or specification systems (e.g. TDS, Optiva) is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex datasets and multiple documentation elements.
- Good organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to summarise information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency with MS Office and digital tools; familiarity with PLM systems preferred.
- Strong planning, organisational, problem solving, and risk evaluation skills.
- Resilient in managing iterative requests and working in fast-paced environments.
- Curious, proactive, and willing to learn new systems and processes.
- Change management and deviation handling, escalating issues to management to support resolution
- Works collaboratively, supporting team members and stakeholders to deliver consistent documentation outputs.
