About the role

We seek a high potential Senior Legal Counsel, Greater China & North Asia, who will be a trusted legal advisor and business partner supporting Reckitt's growth across one of its most important regions. Working closely with the Legal Director, Greater China, North Asia & ASEAN, you will provide strategic, pragmatic, risk-based legal advice that enables business objectives while protecting Reckitt's brands, reputation and business interests.

This role combines strategic business partnering with hands-on legal support across a broad range of commercial, regulatory, compliance, governance and dispute-related matters. You will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to navigate complex legal challenges, support innovation and transformation, and drive a culture of integrity and accountability.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable contributing to strategic business decisions and managing day-to-day legal matters, bringing sound commercial judgment, practical problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach. 

Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the Legal Director, GC, NA & ASEAN in developing and executing the legal strategy and priorities, business initiatives, partnerships, restructurings, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic projects for Greater China and North Asia.
  • Serving as a trusted legal advisor to country, regional and global stakeholders by providing commercially pragmatic legal support across all business activities, including Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, E-commerce, Digital, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, R&D and Corporate Functions.
  • Anticipating and managing legal and regulatory risks across the region, providing practical and business-oriented solutions that enable growth while safeguarding Reckitt's interests.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, advertising claims and programs in all media and formats
  • Managing significant litigation, investigations, disputes, product-related matters and interactions with external counsel, regulators and government authorities.
  • Partnering closely with Compliance colleagues to strengthen and promote a culture of integrity and ethical business conduct through effective policies, training, governance frameworks and risk-management initiatives.
  • Supporting the Legal Director, GC, NA & ASEAN in driving continuous improvement in legal operations through process optimization, adoption of AI and other technology solutions, knowledge management and effective management of external legal resources.

The experience we're looking for

Qualified to practice law in China with 12-15+ years of post-qualification experience gained in leading multinational consumer, healthcare or other regulated industries, and/or top-tier law firms.
 
Strong experience advising businesses across Greater China and North Asia on complex legal, regulatory and cross-border matters.
 
Proven ability to operate strategically and hands-on, partnering effectively with senior stakeholders and business leaders.
 
Demonstrated success in balancing legal risk with commercial objectives and delivering pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
 
Experienced in managing disputes, investigations, compliance programs and business transformation initiatives in fast-paced environments.Resilient, sound decision-maker with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes under pressure.
 
Fluent in English and Mandarin.
