About the role
The Sales Finance Controller acts as a strategic partner to the Sales teams, ensuring financial integrity, accurate reporting, and insightful analysis to drive profitable growth. This role is responsible for managing trade investments, monitoring sales performance, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
Your responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning processes for Sales and Trade Investment budgets.
- Provide variance analysis against forecasts, budgets, and prior periods.
- Deliver actionable insights on Net Revenue, Gross Margin, and Trade Spend efficiency.
2. Trade Investment Management
- Monitor and control trade spend, promotional investments, and discounts.
- Ensure accurate accruals and provisions for trade activities.
- Validate ROI for promotional campaigns and customer agreements.
3. Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review P&L statements for Sales channels (Retail, E-commerce, Distributor Business).
- Ensure compliance with RFCF (Reckitt Financial Control Framework) and internal audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation for rebates, discounts, and promotional activities.
4. Business Partnering
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to align financial objectives with business strategies.
- Provide financial guidance for pricing decisions, contract negotiations, and customer profitability analysis.
5. System & Process Management
- Oversee data integrity between ERP systems (SAP, Fusion) and reporting tools.
- Drive process improvements for accrual methodologies (forward-looking vs backward-looking).
- Support automation and digitalization initiatives in financial reporting.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA/CIMA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in Finance, preferably in Sales Finance or Commercial Finance roles.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle Fusion) and BI tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of trade investment processes and FMCG industry is a plus.
