About the role
The role is responsible for managing and driving the implementation of continuous improvement activities in SOA. The manager reports to the Global director and is a member of the Senior leadership team. He/She will coordinate all improvement activities for loss eradication within manufacturing inbound and out bound supply chain context. He/She is also responsible to develop a Continuous Improvement (CI) Masterplan for the SOA manufacturing strategy, providing skill development and coaching for all CI mangers in the sourcing unit.
The role has a direct impact on improvement of manufacturing performance (e.g. OEE, Man Ex Savings etc).
Your responsibilities
* Responsible for the implementation, management, and successful operation of the Total Productive Management process in the region.
* Ensure region continuous improvement master plan and actions are aligned with the category manufacturing strategy.
* Coordinates the development of CI preparation phase plan, tracks progress against the plan and leads issue resolution (gap analysis and adjustments to plan).
* Implements appropriate reviews (monthly, quarterly) to evaluate both pillars and Factory /Sourcing Unit progress in their CI plans.
* Runs the Region CI promotional office. Facilitates the development of individual pillars, sets benchmarks, and tracks completion of pillar goals, including participation in pillar meetings, team meetings and activities.
* Develops Pillar leaders and manages their development.
* Serves as a resource and coach for questions and practices regarding the CI process
* Coordinates activities with outside consultants
* Serves as a CI champion in the region to promote pillar activities amongst management and employees
* Ensure that CI work is impacting both results and culture change towards the Company vision.
* Set up mini celebrations of successes in region (passing steps, success case studies, competition: Best OPL (One point lesson), best improvement each month, lines exceeding a true efficiency level)
* Publish CI newsletters, OPL.
* Develop a thorough understanding of the efficiency basics and their integration to deliver increased efficiency results early in the CI implementation including the following systems:
1. True efficiency tree (planned, unplanned)
2. 5S, Visual management
3. E&T in maintenance basics (PM's work orders, Scheduled Maintenance, Breakdown elimination)
4. Downtime tracking, analysis and review processes (Daily, weekly and monthly reviews)
5. Focused improvement system.
CI General Education.
* Ensure coordination of E&T across the site:
* Leadership education: (benchmark trips, pillar leaders training the leadership team, hands on workshops, leadership models)
- 50% travel availability to Hosur, Mysore, Delhi. To train, coach and develop teams at all levels within the organization.
- Based on global content, prepare customized workshops, on-the-job training, engaging exercises and coaching sessions.
The experience we're looking for
- B.Tech or B.E. (Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical) from a reputed college
- *15+ years’ experience in business with proven track record in delivering significant business benefits or performance benefits through the use of Continuous improvement. Exposure to Continuous improvement across FMCG industries.
- Experience in operations running advanced levels of TPM or IWS or ManEx.
- Experience implementing TPM in a step by step structured program from the start
- Experience leading core TPM pillars (PM, AM, FI, E&T, Leadership) and managing a maturity based-phased program
- Proven experience as Trainer, Coach and Assessor of TPM capabilities and pillars
- Experience managing a multi-factories program, Including: monthly governance, reporting, data consolidation, escalation process.
