About the role

In this role, you will lead Strategic Communications Planning for Strepsils, ensuring a seamless connection from brand strategy through to activation. You will champion audience‑first thinking, shaping and embedding Connexions Planning, Brand Habitats, Media GSM, and Media Playbooks, while working closely with internal teams and agency partners to adapt strategies across markets and support execution with IMEX teams.

 

You will act as a key strategic partner to the Global Brand Directors (GBDs), Masterbrand and Category Activation Plan Associate Brand Directors (CAP ABDs), collaborating closely to bring brand and communications strategies to life. You will also build strong partnerships with external communications agencies, as well as work cross‑functionally with the Insights & Analytics (I&A) and Trade Marketing teams, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and driving effective, insight‑led communications.

 

International mobility - in this role you will be internationally mobile, with potential travel required due to the global nature of Reckitt.

Your responsibilities

- Strategy: Accountability for providing strategic guidance to the brands throughout the entire Communications Planning process, including applying local market knowledge that can be scaled across a number of lead markets.
- Insight: Gather and analyse insights across key brand metrics, consumer behaviour, categories, and media trends to shape global media and communication strategies across the paid, owned, and earned ecosystem.
- Comms planning: Provide guidance on the role of multiple objectives (business, communication, and media) and the KPIs/measurement metrics required to achieve communication objectives. Drive the creation and rollout of brand media playbooks to guide local market media planning and to share key media and communications learnings. Build compelling market examples that demonstrate the successful translation of strategy into activation, showcasing both excellence in strategic audience insights and impactful execution.
- Innovation: Drive communications innovation within the brand strategy, championing innovative media and communication approaches that elevate brand strategies. Collaborating closely with the DDMM (data‑driven marketing and media) team, actively contribute to building new capabilities, systems, and processes that shape the evolving Communications Planning framework within the Reckitt organisation.
- Partnerships: Collaborate closely with local communications and media teams to ensure the effective implementation of the Connexions strategy and to monitor the accurate activation of brand habitats. Work with internal and external Digital Teams to bring new, innovative “first‑to‑market” opportunities to brand teams that deliver breakthrough impact for Reckitt and are aligned with communication objectives.

The experience we're looking for

- Communications Strategy & Planning Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience working at a leading brand and/or agency, preferably at a global level, within an FMCG/GMCG/CPG environment. OTC/self‑care experience would be a strong advantage.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or business. MBA a plus.
- Proven experience and proficiency with audience insights and planning tools, such as TGI, GWI, and CCS, and their applications.
- Proven experience demonstrating exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to synthesise insights from diverse data sources and collaborate across multiple stakeholders to deliver comprehensive Connexions Strategy and Brand Habitats.
- Strong working knowledge of insights and planning tools and their applications - proficiency in using planning and insight tools to segment and prioritize target audiences and map their consumer journeys effectively.

The skills for success

- Clear approach of translating data into insights into marketing comms strategy, guiding markets on how to bring to life with media and content plans.
- Strong ability to manage and connect multiple global / local stakeholders including Media and Brand Teams, Insights & Analytics, eCommerce, Agencies (Media, Creative, PR etc.)
- Demonstrates strong follow-through by bringing key learnings from brand activations back to the Media & Digital team, to drive insights efficiencies and best practices.
- Fluent in communications strategy and strategic planning, with aptitude for traditional and digital media.
- Self-motivated, team player, highly flexible and takes the initiative to do what’s needed; strong results orientation.
- Strong influencing skills; experience working with senior management.
- A commitment to excellence with a positive and resilient attitude; ability to handle ambiguity and strong agility in managing varying levels of comms maturity across markets / teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; exceptionally strong communication and presentation skills.
