About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical/Solutions Architect to play a key role in the global deployment of a strategic Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) technology platform. The Architect will be responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end technical solution architecture, ensuring the platform ecosystem is secure, scalable, integrated, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Technical Programme Manager, Solution Architects, Engineering Teams, Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Data, PMO, and third-party implementation partners to deliver a robust enterprise-wide PPM capability.

This role requires strong enterprise architecture expertise, integration experience, cloud and SaaS platform knowledge, and the ability to lead technical design activities within a complex global transformation programme.

Your responsibilities

  • Define and own the end-to-end technical architecture for a global PPM platform deployment, ensuring scalable, secure, resilient, and supportable solutions that align with enterprise technology standards, business requirements, and strategic objectives, while producing key architecture artefacts including solution blueprints, technical designs, integration models, data flows, deployment architectures, and future-state technology roadmaps.
  • Lead the architecture and design of enterprise PPM platforms such as Planisware, Planview, ServiceNow SPM, Clarity PPM, Jira Align, Microsoft Project Online, or comparable SaaS solutions, ensuring alignment between business processes, application architecture, infrastructure, security, and data domains to enable effective portfolio, programme, and project management capabilities globally.
  • Design, govern, and optimise integrations between the PPM platform and the wider enterprise ecosystem, including ERP, HR, finance, reporting, collaboration, and identity management systems, defining appropriate API, middleware, event-driven, and batch integration patterns while supporting master data management, data migration strategies, reporting architecture, and enterprise-wide data consistency.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise cloud, infrastructure, security, and compliance standards, partnering closely with Cyber Security and Infrastructure teams to define identity and access management models, authentication and single sign-on approaches, encryption and data protection standards, audit and monitoring capabilities, disaster recovery requirements, and overall platform resilience strategies.
  • Establish and support the technical environment strategy across development, testing, staging, and production environments, ensuring robust deployment processes, operational readiness, scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability of the global PPM solution landscape.
  • Provide technical leadership, governance, and architectural assurance across internal delivery teams, implementation partners, and third-party vendors by participating in architecture review boards and design authority forums, reviewing and approving solution designs, integrations, technical changes, and deployment approaches, while ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Partner closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Programme Managers, Engineering teams, and operational support functions to translate business requirements into technical solutions, support planning and dependency management, guide testing, deployment, cutover, and hypercare activities, identify and mitigate architectural risks, drive continuous improvement of architecture and integration standards, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance the enterprise PPM ecosystem.

The experience we're looking for

  • A depth of experience in full-stack solution design and agile development practises.
  • A track record of spearheading substantial IT & D projects, showcasing both leadership and management capabilities.
  • Proven collaborative skills, working effectively across disciplines in a fluid and fast-paced environment.
  • A strong grounding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with a passion for creating user-centric experiences.
