About the role

The Area Production Manager is responsible, in a particular area within the plant, for the management of labor, scheduling, quality adherence, maintenance, budget control and tactical execution.  The role carries responsibility for assisting the Operations Manager with managing the sites multi-million-dollar variable budgets to ensure site Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are achieved and improvement plans are in place to reach targets.

Your responsibilities

•         Responsible for ensuring production operations are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with State and Federal regulations including our company policies and/or in compliance with GMP guidelines, Hazardous Waste, OSHA, EPA, policies, and procedures.

•         Responsible for production operations by ensuring all products are manufactured in accordance with our quality standards and to an agreed schedule, at minimum cost. 

•         Leads the analysis of available loss data and champions activities to improve plant equipment effectiveness and reduce waste within operations.

•         Empowers production teams to take ownership for their work processes and improvement plans to be fully autonomous to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets are achieved.

•         Accountable for ensuring sufficient and flexible work processes are developed in conjunction with plant leadership team and then implemented flawlessly throughout all operations to deliver plant KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators).

•         Responsible for development and communication of clear project scopes to support the plant continuous improvement methodology and meet new product development timings.  Leads and co-ordinates all production activities with engineering and materials.

•         Reinforce the use of continuous improvement tools such as Autonomous Maintenance, Focused Improvement, 5s, etc. to deliver measurable improvements, plus build the Continuous Improvement culture and expertise within the production stream. 

The experience we're looking for

•         A Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Business discipline

•         Demonstrable experience in production management, team leadership, project management and continuous improvement tools

•         Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English

•         Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals

•         Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing, bulk processing, and packaging operations equipment

•         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Salary ranges

USD $91,000.00 - $137,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
